4th of July

What do the different parks do for 4th of July? I know fireworks at MK and probably nothing at AK. But what about Epcot and HS? And Disney Springs?

We plan to be in AK that day. Originally thought to do MK but I know crowds will be insane. Looking for other fun options that night without having to attempt to park hop to MK

Epcot is bringing back its "4th of July" "tag" which will immediately follow Harmonius.

The 4th of July tag that always followed IllumiNations was called The Heartbeat of Freedom and while not long in duration was SPECTACULAR!!!!!

The Harmonius tag is expected to be similar in intensity.

Definitely worth a hop to Epcot IMO.

MK may close to hopping, but because Disney controls the number of reservations, they will not close to guests with reservations.

It will be business as usual on July 4th. I don’t see them suspending park hopping as park hopping wasn’t suspended during the holiday period. July 4th is busy but not as bad as New Years week

We did 4th of July years ago in MK and we decided then to never be in the park on the actually holiday. We made later dinner reservations for Grand Floridian Cafe and will watch from the beach area.

If you’re not staying at the GF they may check magicbands and only allow GF resort guests to view from the beach. I know this is how it works at the Poly from last year.

Thank you for the update. We watched from the Poly but it was four years ago and we sat on the small beach on the pathway towards GF. Things do change, so if no beach there is plenty of walkway between the two resorts to view.

I doubt it closes to hopping. Didn't on NYE. Forth of July is typically less crowded.
There's been one time that any park closed for hopping since the park reservation system and park hopping began. That was on the 50th and then only for a very short time at MK. By evening time it was reopened. I'd never say never but I will say I'd be very surprised for it to close.
That said, go to Epcot anyway. Go to MK on the 3rd. Same show as the 4th. Then you get both shows. MK on the 3rd. Epcot on the 4th. Epcot only does theirs on the 4th.

MK will not close for those holding reservations for MK. That's one of the main points of having a reservations. Whoever is trying to claim otherwise is just misinformed or misunderstanding.

We’ve though about that option too. We’re staying at WL this year.

If you have a reservation for MK, you can leave and return as many times as you want, whenever you want, that day. If the park reaches capacity, Disney will close it to hopping, not to guests with reservations for MK

Good to hear! Was worried our past strategy wouldn’t hold up.

past 4th of july trips had done MK on the 3rd (or the CR party which sadly isn’t happening again this year) & Epcot on the 4th early am. Took a break in pool in afternoon & returned to same park when cooler to stake out some turf.

We did MK on July 3rd (they do their 4th fireworks both days) and then Epcot July 4th (lots more room to spread out). They were both amazing!

Also doing Epcot but SHHHHH let's not spread this too much and overcrowd Epcot!

But yeah looking forward. Have to figure out strategy once there though.
