4th of July

First, it's going to be crowded. I'm only saying "probably" because I enjoy denial.

Second, fireworks. I'm tempted doing a Fantasmic! dining pkg and staying to see the fireworks. Is that a ridiculous plan? Should we do F! another night and try to snag a castle spot for fireworks?

Also, will DLR hit capacity that day? If we take a break will we be able to get back in?

While it probably will be crowded on the 4th, I don't think it will be "capacity" crowded. The holiday is mid-week, so that will control the crowds somewhat. Last year the parks didn't hit capacity on the 4th. It will get more crowded toward evening as locals come to see the fireworks. The esplanade will get very crowded, as will other spots in DTD, where people without park tickets congregate for fireworks viewing.
A F! dining package is a fun idea for that night. It's a better idea than fighting sardine packed crowds in the free FP viewing section. Here is a recent video from the Parks Blog with views of the fireworks from the different viewing areas, including ROA: Together Forever fireworks view from different locations (video). You can see a little bit what fireworks look like from the F! viewing areas with the projections on the water screens. It is a different experience from the castle view, so if you wanted to view from the castle another night, that would be fun, too.
Play it by ear on the day as far as taking a break goes -- ask CMs at the gates how things are going and whether crowds are getting heavier throughout the day. Have a plan for places to rest (maybe a late TS lunch in a/c?) inside the park if you don't leave.
