We will be at WDW for the 4th of July and were wondering if Disney does anything special. We will be staying at the BCV. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Thanks...

What we did this year was on the 3rd, the MK has special fireworks and so we went there. We booked the dessert party. That kept us out of the crowded areas and was a relaxing way to enjoy the fireworks.

We stayed at the BCV and on the 4th we went to Epcot to see the special Voices of Liberty concert. I think they had 3 that day. Then we stayed at Epcot to see their special fireworks.

Have fun! We were going to do the same next year, but I had to cancel our BCV stay and hope to go again in 2012.

We always stay at BWV for the week of the 4th, Last 3 years we have went to Ohana's and requested a MK view table to watch the Preview Fireworks on the 3rd, is amazing! You might also consider the Beach at Poly for viewing but last couple of years has gotten a little more crowded but not nearly as bad as MK gets.... Enjoy in our opinion there is no place better for the 4th the Disney....Shawnpirate:

We did the same thing. We watched fireworks on July 3rd at MK and at Epcot on July 4th. They were amazing. We had so much fun that we booked again for 2011 at BLT again.

Pretty much the same thing here. We do the fireworks at MK on the 3rd and stay the heck away from the parks on the 4th! Been there, done that.. More than once and did not learn the lesson the 1st time. :-)

We love WDW at this time of the year, yes it can be hot and crowded but we have learned to manage it....

This past July was our first year during that time. We fell completely in love with the special fireworks.

We had dinner ressies at 'Ohana and then headed out to the beach to watch the fireworks on the 4th.

One of the CM's told us that the best thing was to watch the preview MK fireworks on the 3rd and then see Epcot's fireworks on the 4th. Really wish we'd done that instead.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Thank you for all the great tips. Looking forward to our first visit as a DVC member.

Do they do anything special at DHS? My DD was thinking about going there on the 4th (it's her B-day).

Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross are in the American Adventure at Epcot, and the Voices of Liberty do a special patriotic show in the American Garden Theatre. (I think that is what they call the theater out front of the American Adventure.)

Not special to July 4th...but the Sounds of Summer Concert Series is pretty neat too. That also takes place in the theater at the American Adventure. A cover band will play for 3 or 4 days...and rotate out. Last year, the week started with the Janet Jackson cover band, and ended with the Rolling Stones cover band. I really wanted to see the Bon Jovi cover band that played after we left.

As for the Studios...they show a fireworks display and play classic popular music. I'm thinking they play songs like..."Born in the USA - Springsteen" "They Come to America - Neil Diamond" Etc.

You can view all fireworks displays on youtube.

This july 4th will be our 12th annual and I can honestly say unless your willing to be crunched to death stay away from the parks that day.Your best bet would just stay back at the pool and when it's time go down to the beach and view what you can from Epcot and disney Studios.Everyone has to expierence it once so good luck.

We have AKL booked for the 4th weekend. We are looking forward to the special fireworks.

We spent the 3rd at Magic Kingdom diner at Crystal Palace then the best fireworks I've ever seen. We stood in front of the Castle next to Walt. We were completely surrounded by fireworks. We loved it.
We spent July 4th evening at Hollywood. They had some great fireworks too. It was synchronized to music. I'm not positive but it the only night they have fireworks (if you don't count Fantazmic. It was the start of my 50th lap around the sun. What a birthday. Can't wait to do it again.
