4th of July thoughts?

Since your room is booked already (good feeling, right?) makes it easier to just relax and plan out the rest of your trip.
My last trip went with a friend who didn’t want to enter the parks but of course wanted to see fireworks. So I booked a special event meal at CG on the 4th and we enjoyed the MK fireworks. Great food and sight line made for a memorable day that I’d consider doing again.
Have fun 👋🏾

Love, love, love Epcot on the 4th of July. The best fireworks I have ever seen! Even better than MK's for the 4th!

I agree too, staying at a boardwalk resort is the best! No need to wait in line for a bus or skyliner, just stroll right back to your resort. Have a great time!

Hi, we are a group of three guys from Europe (Germany) visiting WDW end of June / beginning of July. We know about the 4th but we don't know what special events happen at WDW. Is there a source you can recommend to learn more about special shows, special character meet and greets, etc.? Thanks a lot!

Tom Bricker has a page on it on his blog here: https://www.disneytouristblog.com/july-4-disney-world-tips/

But it's mainly the two fireworks shows. MK does their special one on 7/3 and 7/4, but Epcot typically puts a special "tag" on their usual fireworks show on the 4th only. Voices of Liberty, the acapella group that performs inside the American Adventure pavilion at Epcot, will typically have more patriotic tunes in their sets on the 4th.

The resorts will also typically have special activities and parties but the festivities at the monorail resorts are limited to guests only to cut down on crowds.

We went many times over the 4th of July and what we would do is go to MK on the 3rd for the preview 4th of July fireworks and then spend the 4th at EPCOT. Much less crowded at EPCOT on the 4th!
We stayed at the Beach Club the one time we were there for the 4th and went into Epcot to see the fireworks. The add on at the end was great and I'll never forget it. :) We watched the MK fireworks on the 3rd from in front of Gasparillas.

The resort had a lot of activities that day. All of the resorts will have special activites on the 4th. :)

This is my general plan for this year. I’ve only been for the 4th back in 2021 when they didn’t have the special fireworks, and just brought back the regular ones (still a big deal though!). I booked a premium view duo studio at the Island Tower so I can watch the MK show on the 3rd from the room. Then I’ll go to Epcot on the 4th to see that one.

We liked watching the MK fireworks on the 3rd from the patio at the Grand. We could see the fireworks exploding from all around the lake.

Thank you very much. That is helpful.

There was nothing specific on the special characters / costumes on that day. Is there another resource to consult

There aren’t any to my knowledge. At least there have not been any historically. Disney tends to focus on resort activities, snacks, and the fireworks shows for the holiday.

Hi Kylenne,

according to WDWNT last year there were "Mickey and Friends in their Spirit of ’76 costumes" at the American Adventure and some reported that e.g. Chip and Dale and other characters come in special attire. There are also characters at the resorts.

If anybody knows of a Disney source for all of those meet and greets that would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
Wolf
