I just read somewhere that there will be "preferred seating" available for this special show. About all I can find out is that there's going to be orchestra music playing US toon stuff and patriotic music. Does anyone have more info on this? Cost? Location of fireworks (just says anywhere along water would be good view) How to purchase tickets and where? I would like to purchase tickets ahead of time but can't seem to find out where or how....even on the US site. I'm assuming the "preferred seating" is at the foot of City Walk? Thanks for any insight on this!

Ok, just double-checking to make sure no one has any info on the 4th of Juy fireworks? Has anyone seen them before? thanks!

We have seen the July 4th fireworks at Universal and they are spectacular. We did not do the "preferred seating". We watched them from behind the Discovery Center in Juarassic Park. Great view. The preferred seating is at City Walk. City Walk is a MOB SCENE for the July 4th fireworks. It's impossible to even pass through City Walk when the fireworks first end. We just took our time walking around the park until the crowd thinned out a bit.

Thanks! Maybe you could answer a couple of other questions about them? We saw the regular ones at US last year....sat at the waterfront table and actually had pieces/ashes dropping on us....not good. We sat at the foot of City Walk two years ago when they were at IOA....and then found out that you had to sit close in IOA to see the "ground effect" ones. I guess my questions concern the locations of the fireworks because it says they are from all 3 areas? Thanks for the heads up about avoiding the City Walk area!

Last year we also watched the regular fireworks sitting at a bench by the lagoon in US and I know what you mean about the ashes!! If you do the preferred seating at City Walk, the crowds shouldn't be a factor for you. Just sit there until the others go their merry way.
As I said, from our spot in Jurassic park we could see the fireworks from IOA very well and then could see the high fireworks from City Walk and US. Obviously there is no place you can sit and see the
ground effects" from all three places.

Thanks so much for the info! I didn't even know there was a special display until about a month ago. Don't particularly want to have debris raining down on us (as 80 yr old mom said last year "Do you think it's safe to be sitting here?") but would like to see as much as we can. Do you have any idea how much the preferred seating costs? We're always the last ones out of any event we've ever attended, so waiting for crowds to thin really wouldn't be a problem (margarita in hand would make it easier :rolleyes1

Having never done the preferred seating, I have no idea of the cost. Check the Universal website and see if any info is there.
Someone on these boards must know. I bet phamton could answer the question!!

I actually had a great vantage point 2 years ago for the fireworks. We decided to head out a little early and wait for the fireworks in the parking garage on the 6th level. I was able to see everything including the mob that was leaving the parks at the end. We even stuck around for a little and watched SeaWorlds show.

Thanks for that suggestion, but I did want to hear the music that will accompany the fireworks. We are staying on the 7th floor at RPR and would probably have a wonderful view from the room but really want to get the full effect (crowds and all) of the whole thing.

It is always alot better when you can hear the music. We decided to head out since the parks were totally mobbed. I don't remember who was singing at City Walk but we wanted to her their concert so we hung out over near the fence and listened until the end of the concert and then decided to watch the fireworks but didn't want to go back into the park, so that is why we did the parking garage.
