Are Disneys 4th of July fireworks much different than Happily Ever After? We will be watching Happily Ever After in MK tomorrow night and checkout Monday morning. We are considering staying late enough to watch the holiday show on Monday 7/3 and will be parked at the Grand Floridian from our reservation still. Looking for advice on whether they are worth staying for (we most likely wont be ready to leave until around 6 or 7pm anyways so 9:20 isnt much more of a wait) and which resort/where would be best. This is our first stay at Grand Floridian but we have viewed fireworks from the Poly beach and Bay Lake Tower bridge a few times.

They are WAY different and absolute spectacular. Well worth it to stick around to see them, but it could be later than 9:20 if a storm happens to roll in. They never want to outright cancel those fireworks so they will postpone them until the weather passes. This happened in 2018 and the show was over an hour late.

They will restrict the MK resort viewing areas to guests of those resorts only, so you will have to watch from Grand Floridian.

We watched the July 3rd fireworks from the viewing area in front of Gasparillas and it was a great view. They pipe in the music, too. If you hurry you can get out of the parking lot and on the road before the crowds get there from the park.

Thanks I didnt consider traffic since we would be leaving from the Grand, does the TTC parking lot tend to empty the same direction we would be leaving? I am still getting accquainted with all the Disney roads but we will be making our way to 192 if that matters or anyone has any suggestions. I am not a huge fan of driving at night or with crowds, but its my daughters Sweet 16. so Ill have to cope :)

Yes, unfortunately, traffic leaving the GF parking lot merges with the TTC traffic a short way down the road. Fortunately, they’ve rebuilt and reconfigured that intersection in recent years, so the merge isn’t as difficult as it has been. And since you’re leaving from the GF, you’ll be ahead of the bulk of the traffic from the TTC, since most of those guests need to take monorail or ferry followed by the parking tram to get to their cars. So don’t tarry once the fireworks end - get out to your car and get on the road.
