4th of July at Disneyland?

We are planning a trip in July and looked into rates and it seems if we go July 1st for seven nights it is cheaper than arriving July 8th for the same stay. Could it really be busier the week after the holiday? We checked a few places and all their room rates go up the 8th on. Any input is appreciated, we definitely would like less of a crowd if thats at all possible????

I worked at a hotel in Oregon for awhile, and their rates seemed to change pretty often. During some holidays, the rate would go lower, and raise after the holiday. Like they were trying to encourage guests to come to that area during the holiday.

But with Disney, I have no idea. Hope that was some help!
