We have our first DL trip planned for this summer. Our dates have changed drastically from the start of planning (originally going in August) and now it’s looking like we’ll be at DL on the 4th. I’ve read conflicting info on crowds for that week. I don’t know if I’m nuts to do this or if it’ll be fine. We only have two days so we were planning one day at each park either July 3-4 or July 4-5. Anyone have any advise?
We’ll be staying at a good neighbor hotel within walking distance that has yet to be determined.

We will be there July 3rd - July 5th and it will be our 4th time enjoying this holiday at the DLR !!! :teacher: It will be fine and you'll have lots of fun!!!pixiedust:
It can get a bit crowded towards the evening of the 4th due to locals possibly coming in later just to see the fireworks BUT most of the time it's okay !
We are locals so for our family 4th of July is the best time for a holiday staycation !!!! :D

Just do it. Anytime at Disney is busy but anytime at Disney is great.

It won't be that busy. We were there the last two 4ths. It's probably a level 7 crowd day at most. I have two photos from last July 4th mid morning and there are NO people on the walkways in the background. One picture is near the Teacups, the other is in Toontown.

I did it 2 years ago and it was great. Really not that busy. Watching the fireworks on main St. was a little nutty. There were so many people lined up for the parade and the fireworks most of the rides had minimal lines.

It's a Wednesday this year so it's also less appealing as a long weekend than the last 2 years. Also it's a high priced day for single tickets and that does seem to help with crowds. Some APs blocked too. We went Memorial Day Sunday last year and it was light crowds with blackouts and high prices.

I agree with DLgal in saying that it won't be that busy at Disneyland if recent history repeats. About two years ago I was driving on the roads around Anaheim and Huntington Beach on the 4th and they were awful. Especially going to the beach on the pch. But Disneyland was not bad at all. The middle of June to early July has become Disneyland's slow season in my experience. Long operating hours, all the shows with very manageable crowds around then. I say go and have a great time.

My family will be there, too. It'll be fun! Just go and have a great time! All the new Pixar Pier attarctions will be open (or are supposed to be open) and it'll be a great time to go. Crowded, yes, but try to focus on the fun. We are! You're going to DISNEYLAND!!!!

My wife was just telling me we should go July 4th because we have our summers pretty booked and we'd like to go before my AP expires. I thought she was crazy, but after seeing this thread I may have to to say yes to her request.

We'll be there on the 4th too, and it's our first visit to DLR. We fly in on the 3rd, and will be at the parks the 4th-6th for sure. I'm debating adding a day to our tickets so we can go into the parks in the afternoon/evening on arrival day because our flight lands at noon. Not sure though, since we're coming from the east coast and will be adjusting to a 3-hour time difference. It may be better to just get to bed early that night so we can be up for park opening on the 4th.
