We are braving the crowds at the MK for the 4th of July. Has anyone else been this crazy?? :yay: Any advice??

Do you know when the park reaches capacity?

:thanks:

While we were in the world this past 4th of July, we were not crazy enough to brave the crowds at MK. Instead, we went to MGM and then spent the afternoon at the pool at our resort (tower room facing MK in CR). I believe that MK closed for capacity at about 10:00 am. I would plan on arriving early and not leaving again until well after the fireworks. Oh, and btw, it is probably going to be amazingly hot.

So, in short, tens of thousands of your closest friends packed into one sweaty, cranky, tired day. If you plan well, you may be able to pull off some stuff. Definately make some ADR's so that you will at least have a nice, cool place to eat.

HTH and have fun!

We've done 3 different 4ths of July at MK and loved each one! The fireworks are fantastic (ringing the park at some points). We think the crowd adds to the enjoyment. Have fun!!

Last year it hit capacity at around 1pm then opened back up later that day only to close to capacity again for the night around 6 I think? I believe even EPCOT closed that day to capacity. It is crowded but if you don't have small children it is doable. We just stayed until a little after lunch when it got packed(epcot that is) then headed back to the hotel for fireworks. They have made a little improvement in showing the fireworks both on the 3rd and the 4th- it lessened the crowds slightly Have fun and I hope to be there too at that time(although still have not booked a room.......)

If you are going to be at Disney for the 3rd and 4th, I would HIGHLY recommend going on the 3rd. The parades and fireworks are the same, but it is a LOT less crowded. I worked both days last year, and the 4th was absolutely crazy (but BTW, the fireworks are absolutely amazing).

When they close the parks for capacity does that mean that no one not even resort guests can get in or does that just mean non resort guests?

Thanks in advance
Frances

Well last year it was closed to non-resort guests only but I was told that it could actually get to a point that they would have to close to resort guests as well- and the CM said if it got to that point you wouldn't want to be in there anyway :rotfl2: We went in after it was closed to non-onsite guests and it was the most crowded I had ever seen it. We didn't last long.
