This was our second Disney Cruise, but our first without the kids.

Today we were up at 7:00 and watched out our secret porthole as we approached Castaway Cay. We went to the buffet again today for breakfast and arrived around 8:05. After breakfast we stopped at Guest Services to take care of our Gratuities and to ask about a problem with our toilet not flushing(we couldnt find our stateroom host to ask him earlier). We were told sometimes in port they stop flushing but will take care of themselves. Later in the day after we saw the toilet was flushed, we found our stateroom host and he told us the whole area had stopped working, but it was ok now. Now back to the good stuff...;)

We were off the ship by 9:45 and it was pretty cloudy, even sprinkling a little earlier. It just kept getting better and in the end we had perfect weather. Since we had parasailing booked for 11:00am, we didnt want to set up a spot on the beach so we spent the first hour walking around the island, taking some pictures and shopping. Something I was unaware of is that if you buy something at She Sells Sea Shells they will send the packages back to the ship so you dont need to carry them around all day. The pick up spot was the Radar Trap. This worked out very well.

After shopping it was off to parasailing where 9 of us boarded the boat. Once we were on they informed us we couldnt go up together. This was disappointing to me because the only reason I had wanted to do it was to do it with DH. Going alone didnt seem as exciting to me. So, be warned, even if you make the weight limit(350 lbs) you still may need to go alone. I wasnt too sure I wanted to go alone, but DH convinced me to do it and I was glad I did. It really was a cool experience, even alone.

It was now time for lunch so we stopped at Cookies. On our last cruise this was my favorite food of the trip so I was looking forward to eating here again. DH had chicken, I had a burger and we both had ribs. All was very good. DH really enjoyed a recent addition to Cookies, the peach frozen yogurt. Heres a tip...if you plan to eat the ribs at Cookies, bring dental floss with you. After lunch I remembered being in the same situation the last time. I really needed to floss. :)

Finally it was on to Serenity Bay. We were able to get a chair and a hammock and a lady who was leaving let us keep her float as long as we returned it(of course we did). As soon as I went to the water I saw a shell & rocks shaped like a Hidden Mickey. Disney thinks of everything! ;) While we enjoyed the quiet and beauty of Serenity Bay, it was almost too quiet. I felt like we were in a library. Plus, Im very squeamish and while I enjoyed floating in the water, seeing fish(TONS of fish) swimming around me sort of freaked me out. We didnt stay too long and by 2:45 we were back to our favorite spot on the ship, the adult pool, sipping mudslides(these frozen drinks really helped my sore throat). We spent about 1 hour there and then went back to the room to wash up and change.

Again, DH went first and then he took off to the debarkation talk, while I finished up. Once we were both ready we took another stroll through Shutters, this time purchasing our picture. Then it was off to the Castaway Club party. They had some appetizers/picky foods here. I sampled a few, but nothing really stood out as great. On the other hand, they were handing out some pretty potent Bahama Mamas. :) Here we met up with Barb and Tony and they introduced us to Captain John and again to Cruise Director Rick. We chatted about how wonderful the cruise was and got some photos taken. It was now time for Disney Dreams. Not much can be said about this show except Do Not Miss! Its just soooo Disney!

After Disney Dreams we did a little packing up and souvenier shopping, then it was off to Parrot Cay for dinner. Once again we were impressed with this meal. All the food seemed better than it was on our last cruise. Then we went back to our room for the final packing and leaving of the luggage outside. We figured we would go out to a few clubs again, but by this time we were exhausted. We did try the ESPN lounge but the cigar smoke and my cold were killing me. So, we took our drinks to the Promenade Lounge. There was a singer there and only 3 tables full. I felt really bad for her as she was pretty good. Then we did 1 last walk around the ship. I had wanted to check out the infamous deck 7 aft, but the door was locked. Around 12:00 we called it a night.

I'll have to look for that Hidden Mickey in Serenity Bay on our next trip, we must have missed that last time, too cute!

I dont know if the Hidden Mickey was just a coincidence or not, but it was a perfect HM. It stood right out as soon as I walked in the water. Too funny! I video taped it, but I should have taken a picture to post here.

Castaway Cay is a beautiful place but if you aren't a beach person the sun will get to you. I left after only an hour but I enjoyed my time there.

My friend, Karen and I went parasailing tandem on Key West using Fury Catamarans Company and it was the most fun time I've ever had :teeth: I just loved it.

Thanks for posting this, I had a lot of fun reading.
