Hi so my mum booked our family trip for the 21st of June till the 5th of July without really thinking it through.
My question though is should we go to the parks on the 4th or skip them that day? I mean how busy will it get?
We are not staying on resort so will there be a chance we won't get in?
I'm almost tempted to tell my family to just have a pool day but then I want to celebrate to at Magic Kingdom!
Choices?

Hi! My family also scheduled a trip last year during this same time. We opted to view the MK 4th of July fireworks on the 3rd (they are usually shown on the 3rd & 4th). It was crowded that evening as well but we still were able to enjoy them. I planned for us to go to Blizzard Beach on the 4th and then we spent the evening in Hollywood Studios. They also had special 4th of July fireworks! :cool1: My only other advice to you is make use of tourplans.com and easywdw.com. Both were great for planning our trip but, the best was subscribing to touringplans and actually making use of the touring plan in each park. It was amazing how much we got to see and do! Good luck!!!

Also, meant to say that we stayed off site too(WBC) and we had no problem getting in the park during that time. We would go in the morning and return that afternoon or early evening with no problems. :)

Since you are not staying at a WDW resort, make sure you're in a park that is not Extended magic hours as you will not be able to stay for the evening festivities. Be sure and stock up on the July 4th souveniers...we were lucky enough to be there one year during the 4th and cherish those special items ;)

Thank you so much! Ahh I'm a little bit annoyed I couldn't get the family to agree on staying at Disney but oh well I'm just over the moon I've finally got them to go :)
Oh don't worry I'm already saving the money for all the souvenirs.:cheer2:

In 2011 we went to TL on the 4th and it was great! Later that night we went to the luau at the Poly and got to watch the fireworks from the beach. Best 4th of July EVER!!

That actually sounds like a really good idea especially for my family with my little sister who so far seems more excited for the water parks than lets say the Magic Kingdom which I'm just like :o at! Going to talk it all over with them and see which idea they like the sound of!

Booked dinner on the 3rd at Kona cafe and then we will watch the fireworks that night. Parents for some reason seem to want to stay away from the parks on the 4th apart from the water parks which they are more than happy to do!
