4th FP+ Question

I am in desperate need of a straight answer. Idid read through everything on official disney site and most of the FAQ here, but I'm still not sure of the answer to my question. I'm at Hollywood Studios, and used up all 3 initial FP+s. I tried to book a second FP+ from the more popular attractions (Toy Story Mania, Fantasmic, etc.), but the app won't let me do so. After the initial 3 FP+ are used, can you only book 4th, 5th, etc from Tier 2 rides(ie less popular rides)? please help!! thanks!
 
From the app, use the '+' and go through the steps to book another Tier 1. If it alerts you that you've already used a Tier 1, continue through the booking steps.
 
I went to guest relations and she told me I could not book another tier 1 (in other words you only get 1 tier 1 per day no matter what). I called disney to double check and the CM had to check bc he didn't know, and he told me the same thing. when did all this change?! I'm confused and a bit frustrated as this will mess with my EPCOT plans as well!
 
I was there last week and I was able to pick up Rock and Roller Coaster as one of my additional FPs after using my 3 initial FPs (Toy Story, TOT, Star Tours). Is it possible one of your party didn't register their Magic Band at the entrance to one of the rides? That happened to me with one of my kids where the magic band didn't register, or the CM just waved him through or something, so I couldn't book the 4th with him as a member of my party.
 

If this has changed, then it has changed sometime in October. I have been to EPCOT several times while getting a tier 1 fastpass for an attraction. After that, I would always get a fastpass for Illuminations. Have you checked to see that all of your fastpasses actually registered? I've had that problem on occasion where we would use a fastpass, but then it wouldn't leave our MDE.
 
Yes, I made sure FP were all cleared. they gave us a 4th FP bc they made a mistake with our tickets this morning. we ended up not using the FP (to the Frozen show at Hollywood Studios), so I went to cancel/delete those FP. the app would not let me, so I went to guest relations in the park to explain the problem. the cast member told me that 4th FP had nothing to do with it and that everyone is limited to 1 tier 1 per day (even if you have used/cleared all 3 previous FP). this didn't sound right so I called to double check and after 15 min of searching for an answer that CM came back and said the same thing!

Use the 4th FP that is in your MDE account and after you use it, try to book a Tier 1.

CMs rarely use FPs and some never go into the parks to play. So, use the FP in your MDE and then check again.

The app would let me book an additional tier 2 (as my 4th) but not a tier 1.

Are the tier 1 fastpasses gone for the day? That can be a possibility since it is the evening. Tier 1 fastpasses are always difficult to get once it hits the evening hours.
 
Because the Frozen FP is in your account, it may be blocking you from booking another Tier 1. Is it an Anytime FP or specifically for Frozen.

Specifically for frozen at specific time. I could book a Tier 2, so it wasn't that the Frozen FP was keeping me from booking additional FP. said all this to that guest relations CM and she was adamant that you could only book 1 tier 1 per day.

I personally think the CM was wrong in this situation. I have had a fastpass for Rock 'N' Rollercoaster and got a fastpass for the Beauty and the Beast Musical later in the day. Both of those being Tier 1 fastpasses.

I think it has to do with that FP that is still in your account and the info that is relayed to the app. The FP kiosk may have allowed a Tier 1.

No one else has reported any problems moving beyond the alert to book a second Tier 1 but no one has reported a FP still in their account.

Please let us know what happens at Epcot. No one has reported problems booking another Tier 1 as their 4th FP.
 
Urg!!! Just spoke with a 3rd CM and he said the opposite of the other two - that I should have been able to book another Tier 1 ride. I'm guessing that extra "gifted" FP screwed things up. Still not sure why it would have let me book a Tier 2 FP though. I'm also frustrated that the initial guest relations CM was misinformed (as well as 2nd CM) and refused to even try to help me! Fingers crossed that all will go well at EPCOT - I'll follow up if I encounter more issues. Thanks for the info guys!

I'm confident from my experience that this was the problem as well. Realize this won't help you now but just for anyone else reading this thread, I've done this as recently as last week and am sure you can get a 4th which is a Tier 1. But the "anytime" FPP's really mess things up - you can't cancel them or let the time pass and still book another one.

I will say I was there Thanksgiving week and neither Hollywood Studios nor Epcot would allow me to book a tier 1 4th FP and I didn't have 'anytime FP+' in my account.
I tried the old way of cancelling the tier 2 or letting them expire or just using them but whenever I chose to book an additional FP from the app it would not allow another tier 1.
I almost logged into DIS to see if anyone had advice but I let it go. We were having such a good time it didn't matter in the end and just waited in line for RNR
