I see that check-in is at 4pm.

Is it typical that the room is not ready till 4pm?

We are taking the Magical Express in the late morning. Will they hold our bags & then automatically bring them to the room when ready?

Thanks!

It really depends - I've had my room ready as early as 10am and as late as 4pm.

I would suggest doing online check-in and letting them know what time your are arriving - it's not guaranteed but sometimes it helps.

Bell services will hold your luggage but you will need to call them when you return to the room for delivery.

If you tag your bags with the yellow luggage tags you receive for taking Magical Express they usually deliver the luggage to your room - however you should know that it can take up to 3-4 hours after you arrive at your hotel for luggage to be delivered.

If you are using Magical Express, you bags will be delivered to your room sometime after you check in. They will know when the room is ready.

If you decide to check any of your carry on luggage with Bell Services before your room is ready, you will have to call to have those pieces delivered after you are in the room, (or you can go down yourself and get the carry on pieces you checked.).

It is unusual to be able to get into your room before mid-afternoon. Occasionally, a room is ready when you check in and rarely, it isn't ready until after 4 PM. Technically, official check -in time is after 4 pm.

A few years ago they changed it from 4 pm to after 4 because they were often missing that time limit. While most are in earlier, there are lots of report of 5-6:30 over the years.

Often the delay is due to too many folks not get out by 11 AM.

Somewhat though IMO it comes down to lack of effort and expectation on the management side. This is not an issue where blame is on the members as much as it's poor management plain and simple. Obviously the 11 am check out (most timeshares are 10) and the lack of enforcement (many charge if you're late) are factors.

I'm curious about these very late room ready situations. I'm wondering what time of the day they are arriving. Is it later afternoon?
I always arrive early by say 10:30. Been lucky with room ready well before four except one time. Then it was right about 4 and it was only time of course my DH was sick and wanted to rest.

Room ready time has many variables, resort, number of housekeepers, how bad the rooms were after check out, number of check outs, size of rooms, room requests, mistakes by CM's.

It's not consistently late arrival.

I agree, it's not just later arrivals that get very late check ins! My worst was noon arrival, after 6 room ready. We did check at the desk. The CM who did give us the room indicated it had been ready, was surprised we did not know. Oh well.

This Thursday we took a 6am flight and arrived to the Poly around 10. We did online check in with one request which was upper floors. I kept checking MDE for a room number and finally got one around noon time. I was expecting to get a room around 4pm so was pleasantly surprised.

We got our room after 6PM once and we checked in at 7:30AM.

I would definitely not have been a happy camper. By any chance, did you request a specific room #?
I find when I do that, it seems to be nearer to 4:00 pm. If I take anything, it's sooner.
I really try to leave the room in such a good state that housekeeping can finish it up easier in order for someone to get into that room early. I know how much I appreciate getting into the room early.

We did ask for a lockoff so we could add the studio a few days later when our friends arrived. The guests in the villa they had assigned us had decided to self extend. It was NYDay and they had a big party the night before. The room as a disaster and it took at least four or five housekeepers to get it cleaned up after they finally left. They must have had five bags of trash waiting outside the room when they finally got it mostly clean.

From stories i have read - getting your room early is very hit or miss. My recent trip in April was at BWV, we checked in around 9:45am and were told we would get our room ready text when it was ready. We dropped our bags (only carry ons) at bell services ( you can either pick them up yourself or you can have them bring them up). If you use the ME baggage tags they will deliver them to your room, but keep necessities in your personal bags or carry on because you really won't know when the bags will make it to your room. We received our room ready text around 3:00-3:30. But it was the complete opposite of our request (it was first floor) so we did go back to check in to see if there was something else available -managed to get 5th floor, so it was a little better.

I never put in any type of room request. I usually arrive between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm. There's only one non-stop flight a day from here, and they change the flight time periodically, so I don't have much control over when I get there.

Sometimes my room is ready early, sometimes my room is ready late. I think it depends on vacancy, how late the previous guests checked out, and how much cleaning was required after they checked out.

New Years Eve or not, I think it's disgusting the room was left in this manner. It is beyond my comprehension guests can act this way at any time or place.

I usually do the online checking 60 days in advance, and setup the test message notice.
During the online checkin, you'll be asked when your arrival time is expected.
Each time I've used this my room has already been ready before I even get there, including once I hadn't even gotten on my plane yet to head down to Orlando.

However I still bank on the room not being ready at 4pm for various reasons others listed above. I know they will still delivery my items to the room for me. I'll usually just check any carry on items I brought on the plane at Bell Services and pick them up later before going to the room.

And then run off the the parks to enjoy the evening.
