4pm check-in... is it "firm"?

We plan on doing a day at SeaWorld between our Disney and Universal stays of our up comming trip... We will checkout of Disney in the AM... then go directly to SeaWorld for the day... then go to Hard Rock and check in for the next few nights... I doubt we will make it for the 4:00 Check-in.
What would you suggest???

You can check in at any time. If you check in early and the room is ready they will even let you in before 4:00. As long as they have a credit card on your reservation it doesn't matter what time you check in.

If you reserved your room with a credit card then I would just give HR a call and tell them that you will have a late arrival time just so you are reassured that they will hold the room for you- get the name of the person that you speak too as well as note the time and date of your conversation- can you tell I've had problems before?

They should hold the room anyway since it is credit card reserved but I've read of hotels ( not HR ) where the rooms are released after 3 AM if the original renters don't show up to claim the room by 'x' time. Just a FYI- always carry your contact info with you-

The 4 pm check-in time is really there for the hotels to give them time to clean the rooms between guests- we went to RPR last summer and checked-in at 8am ( we stayed off property because the rates were so high for our arrival the night before ) and they gave us our FOTL keys to use at the parks , however, the room numbers were withheld until they were ready for new guests.

If I recall correctly, you can check in at any time after 7 am or as late as you want to as long as the hotel knows to hold the room and you have guaranteed it with a credit card.
