4oth Birthday Ideas

Next year I and many of my friends from college will be hitting the big 4-0. Ithought that bringing some of the girls to WDW and staying at the DVC would be a good idea.

Does anyone have some good ideas and things to do for a bunch of big kids celebrating/commiserating together?

Spent my big 40 a few years ago at WDW. On the actual day we went to the Hoop de Doo -- lots of fun!

You say it's all gals who are 30 and 40-somethings? I am getting an idea here, something like a hunky Johnny Depp lookalike dressed in Mickey boxers with MouseEars and nothing else much on, dancing for ya'll. Some good clean fun for the ladies never hurts...just dont tell your hubby's left behind doing chores at home.

I love Disney as much as the next gal, but seriously I would rather celebrate my 40th elsewhere. Why not take a 'girls only' cruise?? I took my dh on a cruise for his 40th last year without the kids. It was sooooo much fun! Just a thought.....

For my DH's bday, I had a family party.

I got one of those large trifold easels (think school kid projects), and did this..

I found out the following items with regard to the year

The top 20 songs
The Academy Award winners for that year
The average price of bread, car, house, etc.

Some top headlines, and famous people born in that year.

I then put tons of photos around all that.


I got lots of great comments about it!

One of my close girlfriends is turning 40 next week.

We are having a girls only brunch, with about a dozen friends. She will have 40 gifts to open, one at a time! We all chipped in for the gifts, most of them are just little things, either cute or funny, and then we got her a very nice handbag that she has been admiring. But all 40 gifts will be wrapped separately, for a nice big pile!

Mine is at WDW at the end of the month and I will probably hit the MK with my friends during the day, then eat somewhere nice and go to the Adventurers Club.

I would get too bored on a cruise.

I'll be spending my 40th - (even though not exactly on my real birthday) at DISNEYLAND. My first time ever. I figure - if everyone is going to make a big deal out of me turning 40, I might as well join in and go for something big too.

havea 39.95 party,, serve cake with a pierce already cut, drinks from glasses with a lipstick mark on one edge,, get a bunch of really cheep looking decorations, there are shirts out now ( i got dw's at spencers gifts) That have the 40 crossed out and a big yellow markdown sticker that reads $39.95

dw got areal kick out of hers.
