45 minute drive to save money on hotel??

One suggestion I would have is, if you do stay with parents, be sure the kids are fed before the trip home from the parks. I have found my granddaughter falls asleep in the car seat and then would miss her meal. I would also try for every other day at the park if you have enough vacation, or stay at a value resort a couple times if you are staying for fireworks. You wouldn't need to pack everything for an overnight.

I have been to WDW just once, that was in June. We stayed at the Grand Floridian. We were shocked how much time we spent in transit between the hotel and the parks. I just cannot imagine adding 90 minutes each day to getting to and from my hotel, and it really puts going back to the hotel for a rest out of the question.
