#45 at Hall of Presidents... When?

I have a feeling it will depend largely on who is elected. If T goes in then not much extra to be celebrated or touched upon. If H goes it then they have the whole first woman thing to work in and I'm sure Disney would go all out on that just like they did with Obama. Not saying it is a political thing or anything like that just what would be historic and what wouldn't be.

To be honest it's historic either way. I hope that whoever it is that they're treated exactly the same as the others. It's only fair. Then again, I hoped for B so :D

I don't think they were saying it's not historic .... the entire attraction and anything added to it would be historic.

I think they mean "history making" ...... "to do something important that has not been done before and will be recorded publicly and remembered for a long time."

Again, nothing to do with the people involved or politics ... just that if it goes one way, it will be history making for this country.

I think it will be historic either way, for many different reasons that will not and should not be discussed here. I really don't think they will change the movie either way

It'e even sadder when the people who do attend it feel they need to boo during certain parts.
Right? My husband and I have discussed just picking a random president like Millard Fillmore and cheering like lunatics. Then, we people look at us like we are crazy point out that that isn't any weirder than them booing and audioanimatronic.

Crazy question - is it REQUIRED to record the inauguration speech for Disney if you're elected president? Or do you think Disney asks and has never been turned down?

We do that too! Usually it's for Chester A. Arthur (gotta love those mutton chops!). DH keeps threatening to dress up like one of the presidents and stand and bow/wave when they say his name.

Well, they certainly don't have to do it, but it's a good PR gesture and pretty easy for them to do. I mean, it was good enough for Lincoln, right? ;)

Hall of Presidents and the Carousel of Progress are the best spots to take a nap at MK. ;)

So true! All of us regulars know this. Although sometimes we're the ones you might find signing and dancing like idiots on carousel of progress.! :dogdance:

We visited HOP in April 1993, several months after Bill Clinton was inaugurated. He wasn't there yet. I suppose Daddy Bush still had the honored role.

I don't think I've been in the HOP since.

Absolutely required. Amendment 67b of the U.S. Constitution clearly states "All newly elected Presidents have 90 days after inauguration to record a message for the Hall of Presidents attraction at Walt Disney World. Any who fail to complete this requirement by the deadline will be impeached and executed. The opposing party's candidate will then become President."

I love Hall of Presidents. It is seriously one of my favorite attractions. DS just doesn't understand it, too much like social studies in school for him lol.

I never thought about it being down for refurb on our Dec trip! ODS will be so sad if it is closed. I guess I have a weird 9 y.o. Because he loves it!

I never thought of all of this before.

No matter who becomes President, will they even verbally acknowledge them, for example in a cast member introduction, even if there is no animatronic before the refurb? Or will it just be status quo with no mention?

Well we will be there sometime in December so we shall see I guess.

They will not be president until January 20th so no need to acknowledge anyone
