44 Points to use by end of month

Any suggestions on what to do with them? If I don't use them, I lose them! These are left over from the 2001 use year and can't be banked any more.

Is it worth trying to get someone to rent the points ? I have never rented points so not sure even how to go about it....

Does anyone let points go to waste? I just fired up the DVC point manager software and remembered that I had them leftover.

I think it will be very, very hard to use them since there is only one month left. The biggest challenge will be availability - it will be very limited. At 60 days prior, DVC usually allows any CRO/WDWTC to rent out any unreserved point inventory for cash to the general public. So all of the resorts may b pretty much booked.

My advice is to call MS and see what (if anything) might still be available and then make the best reservation you can. Offer the reservation (for whatever you think you can get/best offer) on the Rent/Trade Forum. Someone might be able to take advantage of a "fire sale" offer.

P.S. Ask the renter to send you the entire $$ amount right away since the dates of stay are so close.

P.P. S. Not sure if there is enough time to donate your points, but that would be a very nice thing to do (and you will get a good tax deduction since you can deduct the rack rate for the donated stay). Maybe DKTW would be able to use whatever reservation you are able to make.
