43% Vote AGAINST Eisner!

I also heard quoted on the news that a shareholder told Eisner he should "do the right thing" and he responded along the lines of "the right thing will be to stay and get the company back on track".

Sounds like he will not go easily.

As a shareholder, I have very mixed feelings about them forcing Eisner out. He has an iron clad contract that will pay him a huge amount of money if he is forced to leave without cause. Since the board has been behind him and singing his praises, I don't think they can find "cause". I'm not sure I want the company to take the hit. He only has two years left on his contract. Maybe they could just start phasing him out instead.

That wasn't just any shareholder encouraging ME to "do the right thing" - it was Michael Broggie, son of Roger Broggie. The Broggies have at least three (I believe) generations of their family who have worked or are working for TWDC. They are probably best known for their knowledge of TWDC and for Roger's work on the railroad. Michael wrote "Walt Disney's Happy Place" a few years ago. I heard his comments via the webcast today and while I wish he would have taken the next step and expressed his (and I'm sure other's) opinion on what the right thing is, I believe he showed quite a bit of class in leaving it as he did.

Nice job Mr. Broggie!

And now Comcast is back in the picture, so now THAT problem has returned.

ME doesn't have to leave. The Board of Directors could just seperate the Chairman and CEO positions and keep ME, they could leave things the way they are or they could fire ME, which I don't think will happen.

ME's contract is up in 2006, so he may just stay on, which is what he appears to want. I wish we knew what was really in Michael's heart and what his intentions were. If he really believes in the company and wants to make it better, let him do it. If, however, he just wants to stay on and rake in the big salary, which in business terms is perfectly acceptable, I wish he would step aside and let someone else bring Disney back to it's former glory.

Just saw on CNN that the board has decided to split the positions and George Mitchell is now Chairman of the Board, Michael Eisner remains CEO.

May be a stupid question but what's the difference between the Chairman of the Board and CEO? Who outranks who?

Thanks to the split, we now have Disney's version of "Dumb and Dumber!"

Mitchell is the biggest rubber stamp stooge Eisner has. Making him Chairman is like putting Pooh in charge of Huney control.

The days of the Eisner regime are numbered.
