429 last week

Hearing on the radio that there was a HUGE back-up on I-4 last Saturday as we approached Orlando on I-75, we decided to take our chance and try-out 429, not really knowing what where exactly we'd be able to exit. Well, this was a fantastic discovery!! We only saw two other cars -- one going north and one south -- the entire time we were on it. The WDW exit looked finished but did not open during our week-long visit. Here are some photos:

Not too far off the Florida Turnpike. Sorry, I couldn't tell you what the exits were. None were close to WDW.

I'M PRETTY SURE THE EXIT NUMBER ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE IS #267A.

The soon-to-be-opened WDW exit....

This exit is Not the Disney Western Way exit as there is No Tolls at Western Way entrance, this is a picture of another exit north of the Disney exit which is also under construction, for those travel down the 429 toll road there are a number of New Exits some are open and some are not yet open.

You also had a picture of one of the Main Line Toll plazas which where you will have to pay one dollar coming off from the Fla Turnpike. The Western Way sits between the Hwy 192 Main Toll Plaza and the one in the picture which is south of Hwy 535/Fla Turnpike.

Also if you do alot of traveling in Florida (via a car), I recommend you get a E-Pass or Sun-Pass which will allow you to pay your tolls via Credit Card or Checking Account.

From the turnpike to Western Way there are a couple of exits. I work at the Intersection of 429 and 50 (one exit north of 429 and the tpke), I watch the traffic on 429 all day. Next time I'm leaving work and headed down to WDW I'll try to remember to write down the names of the exits.

Since the last section of 529 from 192 to I-4 is not open yet, people headed from the northwest down to Tampa will get used to getting off at Western Way and cutting through WDW to get over to I-4. How much southbound traffic will not take the WDW exit and instead pay the next one dollar toll after 429 is completed?

How much southbound traffic will not take the WDW exit and instead pay the next one dollar toll after 429 is completed?

IMHO most of the traffic will pay the toll to stay on a fast moving uncongested roadway, as opposed to fighting their way down 192 and then through the death trap intersections in the Polo Park area.
