If you did a split stay and changed your dates from 26th to 6th - it would be 142 points (114+28)

Hmm, I'll talk to hubby. Worried that switching those dates will mean trading a light park day for a super crowded Mardi Gras day.

Yeah prob not worth the 8pts booking difference then. You could also do 3 split stays I guess and I can put a waitlist for that 1 missing day (25th) and hopefully you will get filled!

Is it normal for there to be no inventory for DVC but I can book a DVC room through Disney? I would have thought that DVC owners would have first crack at those rooms always.

That is correct it is normal. DVC has certain amount of inventory that total points used equal total points issued. For home resort you need to book 7-11 months out closer to 11 to get the Beth popular times. At 7 months opens to everyone and you see cross bookings

You can check Disney for Dvc availability next 60days if you google

We rented points and are staying at 3 different places over 4 stays Oct 8th to Oct 18th and I was going to look into buying points when I am there so trying to stay at as many as I can. We are staying at the Poly, AKL, and SSR. SSR is at the beginning for one night and again at the end. We look forward to it and see if we are ready to buy.

I would recommend resale - unless you want benefits etc. Several posts/threads here you can learn more

Sorry you aren’t going to find availability this close now especially as that weekend is marathon weekend in Disney. You can do full stays at Ssr Okw and akv all for around 209 points in the 1br. Ssr has a studio in the 100s

Your best bet at a split stay is garden studio Bwv (45pts) 6-9 or bcv studio is same cost. Then piece it together with the 1br akv 22/26 per weekday/weekend night and boulder ridge 28/32 per weekday/weekend.

You can then plan your stays at each park around your hotel
