What can I do with them? If you were in this situation, what would you do? I guess my options are rent or transfer them to someone else, let them expire, or try to use them for a one night stay somewhere close to central PA (Philly, DC, NYC?).

Any advice?

I am very new to this DVC thing but i think anything off DISNEY PROPERTY has to be for one week.

PLEASE dont hurt me too badly if i am wrong, i am new but isnt that how it works.

But if NOT if it was me i would do one night somewhere.

otherwise i would definitley trade or rent!!!!!!

to Lynn: Yes, you can use your points to stay 1 night at many places other than WDW . . . via the Concierge Collection or via most of the Disney Collection.

to Doreen: Not a good situation! You can't use the Concierge Collection in the last 4 months of your UY, otherwise that would be a good option for a night stay in NYC. The only 1-nighter option you'd have would be a DVC resort - but you have none nearby. Sounds to me like you'd best find someone to transfer/rent those points to - or just resign yourself to their expiration.

Okay thanks,

I didnt realize.
Cool Even more choices!

But isnt the Disney Collection, at WDW or DL?

AND THE BOOK I HAVE WITH THE cONCIERGE IN IT, Is this the only ones DVC has or are there more and if so where do i find them????

Sorry to HIJACK your post.:offtopic:

Unfortunately, you can not book into the Disney Collection or Concierge Collection because it has to be booked 4 months prior to the end of your use year.

The rules have been "simplified" by DVC  No banking, or booking outside of DVC during the last 4 months of your use year.

Your choices are to rent the points (and getting a reservation last minute for one or two nights), transfer them, or lose them :(

The book pretty well sums up the concierge collection, though the offerings could change at any time. Check the DVC Member website for the latest Concierge collection offerings.

The problem is, even if you transfer or rent them, the odds of getting a reservation this close are not that great.

too bad there is not some method of pooling these lost points thru DVC to fund vacations for the Make a Wish Foundation or some other worthwhile charity aimed at youngsters with serious health issues.
:)

I'm in SoCal so if you want to book me a night or two at DL I'll send you a postcard from there ;)

Thanks, all, for the information. Not the answer I wanted to hear, but certainly good to know.
