Does DL do anything for birthdays? My 13y son and I are going to DL Oct 20-22 for my birthday, which is Oct 22. I am not usually one to make a big deal out of my bday, but spending my 40th at DL is going to be important to me. My boss just approved the week of for me, so I was just about to purchase tickets to the Halloween party on Oct 22, but they are already sold out. Online vendors want $200 a ticket. Anyone know how I can get cheaper tickets from a reputable person? Since its sold out, does that mean the park is at max capacity, or do they allow less people in on these events?
Thanks,
Steve

They allow only a certain number of tickets for special events like the Halloween Party. You could always call direct and see if there are any available; especially as the date draws nearer, or the day of, they might release a few more. Otherwise, no, if it's sold out, it's sold out...buying from other sources technically is not allowed; and cheaper tickets would not be condoned here on the DisBoards.

But hey...if you're in the parks on your 40th, go to City Hall or the hotel front desks and get yourself a birthday button; then wear it proudly! It's fun to have the CM's wish you a Happy Birthday all day long!

Thanks for the info. I wasnt asking to get cheaper than DL price, just cheaper than money hungry scalpers. I didnt realize buying 3rd party was not allowed. Thanks again.

Your best bet is to either call Disneyland directly and ask if they still have tickets for your date (sometimes they do, even after the tickets have sold out online), OR go to the ticket booths on the day of the Halloween Party as early as possible and see if they have gotten in any day-of-event tickets.

Also, anyone staying onsite at a Disney hotel has a great chance of getting tickets. The hotels get in a very limited number of tickets on the mornings of the events, and if you let them know you need tickets they will probably come through for you -- not in advance, but literally when you're there at the hotel.

The park is not at capacity when MHP sells out, but there are more people there than you would expect for a hard ticket event!

Awesome! I figured calling direct might get you some tickets! pixiedust:

I hope you enjoy your birthday (and get that birthday button!).
