One question is - are you currently in the Orlando area?

What happens if I answer - yes?
What happens if i answer- no?

Just want to know the difference.

Thanks,

They still take your call.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that's not the answer the OP was looking for..

I think it is just for statistical purposes.

If I had to venture a guess, I would say that it probably means they are trying to see if you need an ADR for now (or within the next few days) - i.e., you have already arrived for your trip or are planning a day trip from the local vicinity. As opposed to planning your ADRs for a trip some time in the future, up to 90 days from now.

I have always assumed it was for the purposes of knowing which database/set of dates to open up in the computer - the 'now' one for the next couple of weeks or the 'later' one. :confused3

I called to cancel ADRs while we were on our trip (rahter than just not show). I felt like the wait time (2 seperate days) was longer calling with "in the Orlando area"...and I called plenty outside/more than __ days of the Orland area.

I was just wondering if you got different reservations options depending on if you were in Orlando or not. Just wanted to know why they asked that question.

But if you know the prompts, you don't have to listen to the options. As soon as each one starts, press one of the numbers.

I forget from year to year, but after the second call I'm usually "refreshed" and can zoom through the entire pre-call in about ten seconds.

I was wondering the same thing, actually.

We made ADRs this week for an April trip, and they have added a lot of prompts as opposed to years past. And they are prompts that you have to speak into the phone for, not ones you can press a number to respond to. Now they ask have you been there before, been there since x year, been there more than 5 times in the past so many years, etc. Basically all the stuff they usually ask on the resort reservations line, they now ask on the dining line too.
