40% off code

Who knows? Some say by getting the DVD some by emails & some having Disney Visa. I have Disney Visa & ordered a DVD & no discount code:sad1:

I have the Disney visa also, I have not seen a code, is this something they would mail to you on a postcard?

I, too, have a Disney Visa (had it over 2 years) and have never seen a code:sad1: But then we've gone every year for the past 7 years; plus we already have our trip booked for this December, so I guess Disney doesn't see any reason to lure me there when I'm already going on my own:rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl: But I would LOVE to get a code:goodvibes

I don't have a Disney Visa, but do have the 40% pin code this year. No rhyme or reason to it.

my mom has the disney visa, has signed up for the dvd, made an itinerary, tried the disney contests online and never got a code of any kind.

I am doing the College program in Aug, and my mom and aunt are coming down to help me move in and everything, and we are hoping for some kind of discount (better than AAA). I know I get discounts once I start my CP, but we are going to be there before I get it.

I received the 40% off code- I do NOT have a disney visa, I did NOT order the trip planning dvd, and I did NOT go to the disney web site plugging in potential dates and prices. So go figure!!!!

I WAS however planning an October disney trip even before I got the code in the mail. I got the postcard code, pushed back my dates two weeks and voila! saved 400.00.

Have no clue what specific category I fell into to get the code but am glad I did.

I have a Disney Visa, had tried plugging in and saving a few itineraries on the website, and ordered the planning DVD. I got a 40% off code (I found out about it by calling and asking... I had not received an email or post card for it), but don't know which if any of those factors helped! Good luck to those waiting/ hoping for one! :wizard:

I get a lot of e-mails and letters from Disney that, in the past, I've always just glanced at and tossed out if I didn't have a trip planned. Last year for the first time I actually started reading them and realized they are discount codes. You can bet I'll be paying closer attention now. I'm hoping for a 40% off code for next fall, during the free dining time.

Hi Mirthmaiden,
Just so you know, you can't use the 40% and free dining at the same time. You have to pick which discount to go with. I had the 40% postcard and used it b/c it was worth more money to me than the free dining.

Yes, I know. I'm not using free dining. I'm going Labor Day weekend, but I have annual passes so I'm hoping for a room-only discount.

It has nothing to do with Disney Visa, in my experience. I got one and don't have the card. A friend also got one and she doesn't have the card.

How did you ask when you called? I have a trip booked in Oct with my AAA discount at Pop, but would love to upgrade if I got a code...just for the experience because we really do like Pop. I don't want to sound like I'm looking for a hand out when I call, because the code won't make or break my trip.

Also, if I get a code, do I have to go during specific dates? I can't change my dates because I'm working around a school holiday and I'm hoping to book my flights on SW tomorrow:confused3

I also want to know how you ask. Do you just call and say. "Are there any discounts attached to my name?". Please help Dbf and I are not very confrontational people who embarrass easy. Do we both need to call or can I call for him?

I called recently and just said, "I'd like to know if there are any codes attached to my account."

I do not have the Disney Visa, and I did order the planning dvd in my name, but my husband is the one who got the code thru an email. The only way they could've gotten his email is from last Sept. I had him call and price a vacation for Oct. He has never been to disney and I haven't been in 14 years so I'm sure they asked him that and maybe that had something to do with it. We didn't book last year because the price they quoted was too high, but we did book this year when we got the code.

We do not have a Disney Visa, did not order a DVD vacation planner etc...but I got one of the 40% postcards in the mail but we were unable to plan our trip for any of the dates offered with the kids school schedules..I do know with our card at least you had to book by March 31st..

The window dates on our card were:

Jan.6-Jan.17, 2008
Jan.20-Jan.31,2008
Feb.24-March 5, 2008
March 30-April 8, 2008
Aug.10-Sept.27, 2008
Oct.19-Nov.1, 2008
Nov.9-Nov.15, 2008
Dec.7-Dec.17, 2008

They do have a disclaimer by all of the date listing that qualifies "Most Nights".

i called central reservations yesterday & asked if there was a code attached to my name & she said they JUST had a meeting about it & that they dont look it up like that & its only thru emails...she said they have been getting LOTS of calls

so now im confused.....did i get someone who knows or doesnt & what email should i be looking for???

I have a Disney Visa. I also am registered on Disney's web site and we are past guests. We did get a card this year and we took advantage of the discount. My only guess is that we didn't go last year and it was an incentive to come back.:confused3
