I got my code and was excited that it was listed for the time we are going. Well turns out that because we aren't there the whole time during the dates on the brouchure we can't use the 40% off. I mean it's just for 3 nights that we are asking but becuase we are there Dec 3 to the 10 and not there 7 to 17 we can't use the code. This stinks......
:sad1:

Same thing happened to us. We are going 12/6 to 12/14. We have a room only for 12/6 and the code package for 12/7-12/14. Split your ressie into 12/3 to 12/7 and 12/7 to 12/10

wow never thought of that. But I don't want to risk the chance of losing the room we have. How do I go about doing this and keeping the same room? And can I keep the dinner and ticket package for both reservations? This is all new to me it's our first time staying on the property and it is a little confusing.
thanks for your help

Here's what I did:

I called back and to get a room only for 12/6. After that reservation was made and paid for they changed my current reservation to 12/7 arrival. They linked the two ressie in the system so the hotel room assigner knows we are a continuing stay. I will mention it again at check in to ensure we don't have to move rooms after one night. I know we will need to go to the front desk 12/7 in the am to check out and check back in.

Since we are only missing it by 1 day we are forgoing our dining and tickets for that one night (We will do stuff around the hotel/DTD) and pay OOP for our meals.

I think you would need to book 2 packages. The first at full price for 12/3 to 12/7 (get 4 day tix plus dining) and the second a the 40% off for 12/7 to 12/10 (4 day tickets plus dining). It will cost a little more since you are paying for the tickets twice but you need tickets on both packages to get the dining plan (unless you are an Annual Passholder...)

HTH!

Depending on where you are staying.. the savings of the 40% off for the three nights.. would be completely eaten up by the increased cost of splitting the package..

:confused3

I think you could just buy a 1 day ticket for each one and upgrade your first ticket to the full number of days minus 1, or the full number of days and just keep your other ticket for a future visit. Which would still save you money, especially if you're at a deluxe (you didn't say...).

We are staying at the AKL with SV. So would it be worth doing the split packages? I know for sure that the kids would kill if they can't go to the park as soon as we get there. Thanks for the help

Why would it cost more to split the package? If they are paying full cost for all days now, and getting 40% off for 3 of them, why would it cost more?

Do the math. I think you will come out better getting tickets for your length of stay 12/3-12/10 w/ your first reservation. The dining will only cover the number of nights (12/3-12/7 nights) you are staying on your first reservation.
Then make a second reservation w/ only a one day ticket (it doesn't have to be a hopper wh/is cheaper) and add dining for the number of nights (12/7-12/10 nights) in that reservation. You can either use that ticket on this trip or save it for another trip. Be sure to subtract a day from the first reservation tickets if you decide to use the one-day tickets.

One more piece of advice...if you plan on saving your one-day ticket for a later trip, then take some tape to put on your one-day ticket to identify it as such so that you don't accidently use it at the entrance of a park . The reason for this is that the one-day ticket will also be your room-key and charge-to-the-room card.

Better still, just pay out of pocket for the last few nights for your meals. The 40% savings would MORE than pay for the few dollars that if MIGHT cost you for meals. You can still use your tickets from your first reservation, as long as you purchase the right # of days right up front!!!

You don't have to gt 4 days tickets on both packages. Just get a one day ticket on the second package. That's all you need to be able to get dining. And the 7 days you get with the first package won't expire until 14 days after first use, so they will still be good for the time during your second package. Does that make sense? It will save you quite a bit of money.

Thanks for helping me on this one... I wasn't sure how soon the tickets had to be used before the expired! :thumbsup2
