I keep reading about 40% off codes. I have some questions.

How do you get one?

If someone else gets one and shares the code will it work for everyone?

Is it 40% off the whole package price or just your room?

If it is off the room only can you still buy a package to get the DDP?

What are the chances I can get one for Jan 19-25 2008?

Thanks :flower3:

The code was sent by mail (and maybe email) to select households. It was in the early spring and has since expired. It was off the room portion only.

I got the code the day before yesterday and was given to me by one of my many cyber friends. Unfortunately, Disney has STOPPED using that code. Yes it is only for the room portion of your package. Which is pretty steep if you are staying in a highend resort. A value resort during Value season is priced at $49 a night. In some cases its better than FREE dining.

There are two codes floating being talked about here.

The one the OP was talking about -- I think -- is the original 40% off code from earlier this year. That was not a public code but lots of general public booked it anyway.

The code from the last few days was ALSO not a public code, but it has been quickly shut off by Disney. Both saved roughly the same amount.

Just where do these "mystery codes" come from? How do people find them?

Read the post linked in my first post in this thread. It's all in there.

the 40% off room only code is a better deal than free dining if you are staying in a Deluxe resort. If not, free dining is a better value.

It really depends on each reservation's specifics -
Say you have a party of 2 adults and 2 kids over age 9 - your free dining savings per night would be 142.64. That means that for the the 40% off code to be a better deal the rack rate for your room would have had to be higher than 316. And in value season even at the contemporary the lowest 2 categories are less than that.
If you are traveling 1 adult 1 child (under 10) free dining would save you only 49.98 to be a better savings with the 40% code the rack rate would only need to be 111. So in this case, the 40% code is better at all mods and above during value season.

For those of us who are NOT traveling during the FREE dining time availability, that 40% off code was perrrrrrrfect!!! BTW, I'm traveling Aug 6 -12

We just called CRO about a month ago to inquire about a trip in September and asked if a pin code was attached to our name, and yes there was. We never received any card in the mail but it applied a 40% discount to our WL courtyard room, made it 219.00 a night with all taxes. We confirmed our reservation and was elated to get a great rate for our trip. seems when we called only a couple resorts were left but we wanted WL anyway, queen bed with bunks but its only me and the wife, sooner it gets to depart date, we'll call and see if we can just get a regular room with 2 beds and no bunks, save that for a family that has children. Love them codes and discounts.
