40% off anymore?

Is there a 40% off room rate for the general public anymore? Are there pins floating around for it? Or have discounts gotten worse?

The last time I received a 40% discount was last year. Sad to say, I believe those days are over, at least for now.

Not only have they cut back on discounts - they've cut back on resorts/categories. Then add this to how much resorts prices have increased.

For instance, last year I booked AKL CL with 40% at $219 per nt...this year is a 5% discount at $365 per nt.

Wow, a 40% would be great. I think the code we received this past Spring was 30% or 35%, it was the best one we've gotten.....well it's the only one we've ever gotten LOL

I also managed a 40% discount at the Poly last January. I am looking for a similar discount this year, but so far, only 10% off with AAA. I hope something better comes along because the room rate is steep.

Currently, moderates and values are at 30% for fall. I'm hoping Deluxes come down for Jan; we booked YC at AP rate for $230 for marathon weekend. Right now, the only Epcot hotel anywhere close to that is S&D.

Is there anyway you would qualify for the military discount? We had 40% our WL CL stay last month and are getting 35% off POR/40% off Poly CL for our trip next year with the military discount.

Not only are the discounts getting less, but they are really cutting back on what resorts are covered and breaking it down by certain room types etc.

And it's sooo frustrating! I had a BC garden-view room booked and was hoping for at least a 30% discount. The 30% discount finally happened, but for lagoon-view rooms only. So even with that discount it would have ended up costing us a few hundred dollars MORE than paying rack rate for what we have now. Agh! Thank goodness for free dining!
