The Cast

Ian - 40, loves WDW, in particular the drinking establishments, leaves all planning to me..

Jules - 39, chief planner, and lover of salty rims!!

We wake up early, both disappointed that the cruise is over, but as Ian always says the next bit of the adventure is waiting for us!

While Ian packed up the last bits of hand luggage, I went to pay the last bit of our bill, I like to keep paying in cash while on the ship, it makes what we are spending seem more real, I can drink enough on there as it is, if it was all going on a credit card, I would drink even more, as it doesn't seem like real money - ok I know that makes no sense whatsoever!! There was a card from the rebooking desk outside the room, letting us know they hadn't had the time to price up the cruise we had asked them to..

Breakfast was at the Enchanted Garden, it was nice to have a sit in there and take in the surroundings, as we had missed it on our rotation, I think we both got some sort of omelette. We gave out our tips, as we had been at Palo the night before. It was then time to say goodbye to tablemates, and leave The Dream, we were both disappointed as we had an amazing, chilled out time.

Once off the ship I called Cocoa Beach Shuttles, and fair play to them they were there in minutes and soon had us back to Fawlty Towers, where we picked up the car and waved our goodbyes..

The journey back to Orlando was uneventful, about 15 minutes away from Disney Ian became very quiet, poor love I thought he must be either excited for Bay Lake or more sad than I thought to leave the ship, turns out he was just desperate to make his wees, and twitched and wriggled for the rest of the journey.

We soon arrived at WDW and I let out a little whoo hoo as we passed throught the arch. We got a little confused on the approach to Bay Lake as we were headed for the Magic Kingdom Parking Booths, they quickly directed us to the right hand side and we arrived at Bay Lake. This is where the bit of a mishap started, Ian was still bursting to pee, and we couldn't figure out how on earth to drive up to the check in area. We decided there was only one way in and ended up driving across the flagged area outside, this resulted in much waving and hollering from bell services :rotfl2: Only the Smiths could do such a thing!

After parking, Ian ran off to the nearest loo, while I checked us in, our room as I had expected wasn't ready, so we decided to head off the the Mall of Millennia. We spent a pleasant couple of hours there, I stocked up on a great big bag of yankee tarts, got my ipad, and the Ed Harvey hat Ian had been after. We stopped off at Walmart on the way back for wine, beer etc..

Our room was ready on our return, an upper floor as we had requested, so a good start. We had booked a Lake View, as we came out of the lift there was a huge window with a lovely view of the castle on the left hand side. As we made our way down the corridor I realised our room would also be on the left hand side, and started counting down rooms as we got further away from the castle.. Our Lake View turned out to be this

I was over the moon, and couldn't believe how lucky we were. We cracked open a bottle of wine, and quickly unpacked, before going for a nosy at the pool area.

We decided to take a jaunt to Downtown Disney, for some food, and ended up at the bar at T Rex. I had some wine, Ian guinness, and we shared the combo doo dah, which is always lovely.

It was hot, hot, hot and it would have been rude not to visit the little Margarita shack, home at last

We headed back to Bay Lake, showered and changed, and had a drink on the balcony, admiring the view.

It was now time for my sole purpose for booking Bay Lake a visit to The Top Of The World, we thought we would be able to get there by using our room key in the lift, but we had to go to the ground floor, to the booking podium, where a man escorted us in the list, he made a comment about people not realising Wishes wasn't until 10.00. it was about 8.30, so it seems like most people are just going up there just before Wishes rather than to enoy the lounge - a shame as its lovely up there..

We settled in with a glass of red for Ian and white for me, it was lovely, its a nice relaxing lounge..

It was soon time for Wishes, its an amazing viewing point, and I couldn't believe quite how far the fireworks are behind the castle. I was a little disappointed that the music wasn't piped in, especially as we could just hear it in the distance from the Contemporary. I have spoken to Tam since we got back (they stayed there just before us), and she assures me that there was music when she was there, so maybe there was a fault on the night we visited.

We enjoyed two more drinks, before calling it a night, it had been another lovely day

What an amazing view you had!! :cool1:

Another lovely day Jules ::yes:: BLT looks lovely, but such a shame that the Top of the World lounge is mainly busy around Wishes time, I'm sure I'd make use of it at all times of the day ;)

Well done on getting the MK view lake view room.

I'm seriously considering asking Dad to buy me an Ipad 2 for my 40th when we get to Orlando in October. I don't NEED one but I so desperately WANT one.

What a great view. I don't think I would leave the room with a view like that ;)

Lovely photos.

Jules I am loving your style of writing. Sitting here at working eating my lunch and chuckling away

Onto the next one now

Tam

I want the same "Lake View" that you guys had, Jules!

Sounds like a nice way to assimilate yourselves off the ship and into "reality". ;)

what a fab view you had and the lounge looks lovely too. glad that Ian could 'hold it in' for so long- that is so funny and men moan about women needing the loo:rotfl2:

Poor Ian - I'm glad you decided to be naughty and nip through the restricted area, I bet he couldn't have waited any longer :rotfl:

Wow - that view  Like others have said, I'd never have left my room - and probably cried on arrival :lmao:

Another great day. An amazing view from your room:goodvibes

fab view and great day :goodvibes

What a view, i'd have been jumping up and down on the bed with excitement.

Awww Jules, what a wonderful view for your special b'day trip. :lovestruc

I loved the Top of the World lounge, can't wait to be back in there in September. :cool1: They most definately do pipe the music in, I watched Wishes from there about 4 times last June. :thumbsup2

Hi Jules
