The Cast
Ian - 40, loves WDW, in particular the drinking establishments, leaves all planning to me..
Jules - 39, chief planner, and lover of salty rims!!
We wake up early, both disappointed that the cruise is over, but as Ian always says the next bit of the adventure is waiting for us!
While Ian packed up the last bits of hand luggage, I went to pay the last bit of our bill, I like to keep paying in cash while on the ship, it makes what we are spending seem more real, I can drink enough on there as it is, if it was all going on a credit card, I would drink even more, as it doesn't seem like real money - ok I know that makes no sense whatsoever!! There was a card from the rebooking desk outside the room, letting us know they hadn't had the time to price up the cruise we had asked them to..
Breakfast was at the Enchanted Garden, it was nice to have a sit in there and take in the surroundings, as we had missed it on our rotation, I think we both got some sort of omelette. We gave out our tips, as we had been at Palo the night before. It was then time to say goodbye to tablemates, and leave The Dream, we were both disappointed as we had an amazing, chilled out time.
Once off the ship I called Cocoa Beach Shuttles, and fair play to them they were there in minutes and soon had us back to Fawlty Towers, where we picked up the car and waved our goodbyes..
The journey back to Orlando was uneventful, about 15 minutes away from Disney Ian became very quiet, poor love I thought he must be either excited for Bay Lake or more sad than I thought to leave the ship, turns out he was just desperate to make his wees, and twitched and wriggled for the rest of the journey.
We soon arrived at WDW and I let out a little whoo hoo as we passed throught the arch. We got a little confused on the approach to Bay Lake as we were headed for the Magic Kingdom Parking Booths, they quickly directed us to the right hand side and we arrived at Bay Lake. This is where the bit of a mishap started, Ian was still bursting to pee, and we couldn't figure out how on earth to drive up to the check in area. We decided there was only one way in and ended up driving across the flagged area outside, this resulted in much waving and hollering from bell services
Only the Smiths could do such a thing!
After parking, Ian ran off to the nearest loo, while I checked us in, our room as I had expected wasn't ready, so we decided to head off the the Mall of Millennia. We spent a pleasant couple of hours there, I stocked up on a great big bag of yankee tarts, got my ipad, and the Ed Harvey hat Ian had been after. We stopped off at Walmart on the way back for wine, beer etc..
Our room was ready on our return, an upper floor as we had requested, so a good start. We had booked a Lake View, as we came out of the lift there was a huge window with a lovely view of the castle on the left hand side. As we made our way down the corridor I realised our room would also be on the left hand side, and started counting down rooms as we got further away from the castle.. Our Lake View turned out to be this
I was over the moon, and couldn't believe how lucky we were. We cracked open a bottle of wine, and quickly unpacked, before going for a nosy at the pool area.
We decided to take a jaunt to Downtown Disney, for some food, and ended up at the bar at T Rex. I had some wine, Ian guinness, and we shared the combo doo dah, which is always lovely.
It was hot, hot, hot and it would have been rude not to visit the little Margarita shack, home at last
yes it packed a punch
