4 year olds Birthday Question

Hello

I am new to this and have not posted before so If this has been asked I am very sorry.

We have a month before our trip to the world for a week. I have read lots of peoples posts and trip reports and read so many great ideas.

On a lot of posts they seem to celebrate birthday's in the parks for numerous days and at different parks and resturants.

Our DD is turning 4 right before we go and this is her birthday present.. What is the process to have her take advantage of the cupcake and card from the characters at dinner. I assumed that since it wasn't the exact day of her birthday that they wouldn't acknowledge it at Disney.

When I made all our reservations I didn't tell them it was a special occasion because I thought since it wasn't the actual day it wasn't a special occasion.

Any input on this would be amazing... I would love her to get a special birthday treat there.

You can celebrate it all week! When you get there, have her get an "It's my Birthday" button.
Then you can either add the information to your reservation that you're celebrating her birthday, or you can tell them when you check in at the podium.

go to your resort check in desk and request a birthday button. When you get to every restaurant let the wait staff know it's her birthday and they will take care of everything. I did my DS4 in Disney last year and the cast was great

Just wanted to add that you shouldn't necessarily expect things like a free cupcake at TS restuarants. It's something Disney seems to do at random, and not for every person or child celebrating a birthday. I think Disney would LIKE to acknowledge everyone, but with so many people celebrating every day, it's not possible.

Certainly haver her wear a birthday button though -many CM's and certainly some guests will wish her a happy birthday.
