DS4::MickeyMo has a heart defect and we are wondering what type of things he would actually get to do on this trip. This is his first trip to WDW.
DS10:darth: This is the big brother it is his first time also. He is a huge star wars fan.pirate: :cool2:  :lmao:

i'm sure this isn't the answer your looking for

It all depends upon your child.

Our dd who has had 3 heart surgeries. Has been to WDW several times and is able to do most rides. But there are definitely some that are not for her.

I would consult his cardiologist to get his/her opinion on what is O.K.

Sorry I'm not more help.

What does his doctor(s) say about his limitations? This is not really a question that can be answered on a message board. There are many types of heart defects, from relatively simple to extremely complex and life-threatening.

In general, there are not many thrill-type rides that a 4 YO would meet the height requirements for, so if he is limited because of his condition he won't miss out on much.

Denise, thank you for your response. My son has also had three heart surgeries, so maybe he will be able to have a good time. We will check with his dr.

Anything that displays a red triangle symbol on the sign outside it and on the map is not recommended for those with heart, back or neck problems, though he probably won't be tall enough to ride on most of these anyway. Other than that, I'd talk to your doctor and go with your gut; you know him best. If you let us know what movements, attraction types etc you want to avoid, we give you an idea of the ride you might want to stay off. Whatever happens there will be loads of things he can do (and that doesn't just mean It's a Small World :rotfl: ), probably too many for you to get them all in in one trip.

If there are rides he can't do, but the older son wants to, you can either split up or do a baby swap (this is just a name, it isn't exclusively for babies). This is where part of the party rides, while someone waits with the person who can't / won't go on, then when the first people have ridden, those that waited go on the ride while the others wait (hope that made sense).

Have a great time :thumbsup2 !
