Hi! Maybe this should be on the rest. board, but I figured there would be more people on this one to answer my question. My four year old gets cold in every restaurant we go in...yesterday, 4th of July, we're eating bar-b-que, and he's wearing a fleece hooded sweatshirt...hood on! So...how cold are these Disney restaurants? I don't want to pack more than I need, but I also don't want him to freeze! Thanks!

It's been a few years, but from what I can remember I've gotten chilly in a few of the WDW restaurants. I would probably pack a sweatshirt just for dining with for your DS. He can wear it tied around his waist or something during your touring so it is available to him. I also remember being chilly on some of the rides too. For some reason I am remembering Epcot the Space Ship Earth ride and Figment ride I was cold on...but I am sure there may be more.

Good luck!

Just like your 4yo, I get cold in just about every restaurant I go in.
When we went to Disney in May, I just carried my sweatshirt in a plastic bag when we went to dinner each night. I actually was not cold in the restaurants during our last trip.

During a previous trip though, we ate at Crystal Palace & it was freezing in there!

We ended up buying a sweatshirt for our DD when we ate at Chef Mickeys, it was freezing for her .

i think it can get cold in restaurants (and rides), esp when it's rainy and you've gotten wet. But sweatshirts take up a lot of space, so I try to take those nylon windbreakers (the kind that can fold up into a small pocket) for myself and my daughters. They are good for both cold and rain and dry off quickly if they get wet.

My almost 4 yr old DD gets chilly in most restaurants and always in the grocery store. I keep a sweatshirt in my car when we're at home and I know when we're in Disney I'll just toss one in the bottom of the stroller in case we need it.... GL and have fun! :)

My DD4 is the same way. Instead of sweatshirts I find that cardigan sweaters are great. I can find fairly thin ones at that fold up small enough to stuff in my purse (OK, so it's a "mommy"-sized purse, but still ;) ).

hi! layering works well, too.
we just went to disney and for my 8 year old cousin, my aunt packed a lightweight long sleeved shirt and a lightweight jacket. both were easy to roll up and throw in a bag, but together they kept my cousin warm enough!

I too get cold in restraurants as does one of my 5 kids... I usually take a small light weight jacket that I can tie around my waste or that can be thrown in our bag for the remainder of the day.. I also carry a sweatshirt for each of us in the van just in case someone gets cold while we are out and about having fun!!! :)

I think that most restaurants and indoor attractions @ WDW are (or seem) cold. When going from 90° into a 70° can seem like 50°. I would pack a zip up hooded sweatshirt, that would be easier to get on & off. Also, last year we stayed at Boardwalk Villas, at one point I stopped and exhaled just to see if I could see my breath :cold: THe halls were FREEZING!!! DD 3 months old cried everytime we went down the hall there.

Crystal Palace is cold! I always try to remember to pack a lightweight cardigan for DD and a sweatshirt for DS when we dine anywhere inside at the World. It's horrible to have whining all through your magical meal!

One of the reasons people can get chilled in a restaurant is because of the cold soda's and drinks. Have the server put only a teeny bit of ice in the drink and that should help a bit. (I'm sitting at home right now and just sucked down an icey soda and am now freezing LOL!)

I used to always freeze in WDW restaurants, but they aren't as cold these days as they used to be.
