I am interested in am wondering doing hoop de doo but am wondering if this is a good age for it? or will it be too over their heads?we come often to WDW(every year or 2) so i am not worried aobut missing it. we can always do next time but dont wnat to wait too long and pass the best ages for it.

My DH and i have never seen it either

My 6 year old niece, 5 year old daughter, and 4 year old nephew all loved it on our last trip. They loved the singing and the dancing and the fried chicken and playing a washboard with a spoon.....

A good friend of mine just went to Disney for the first time and they did HDDR on their first night. They ALL loved it, including their daughter who was turning 4 on their trip.

She said it really set the tone for the fun week ahead and made them even more excited about the fun to come!

We are going on the Night we arrive so excited - All 4 of us are going to Dress up -- Cowboy Boot's --- Kid's are wearing Vest's ... ;)

My DS went when he was 4 1/2 and loved it. I took more pictures of him and watched him throughout the show - he laughed and laughed.

Now my DH did get picked on and my DS loves slapstick.

We would go again!

Enjoy!

Best night of our trip..hands down! All of our kids...4, 8 and 9 can't wait to go back. Book it and don't look back!

Hi, good to know. I made reservations for when we are at Disney and my daughter is 5. She loves music and so I was hoping she would like hoop de doo. Glad it seems I made a good choice. Kathy

I've been doing Hoop Dee Doo with my family since I was about 2 and loved it every time! Now I get to pass the tradition on to my DS3 next week!!! It's so worth it with young kids. Lots of opportunites for swinging napkins, clapping along, spoons on washboards, waiters who CLANK down metal pots of vittles on metal dishes. Lots of slapstick and fun for ALL ages! If you're down on the first floor, you're in the middle of the action, so I personally sprung for the better seating option. I highly recommend it.

Our DS had a great time at Hoop Dee Doo when he was age 4. He was 4 and 2 months. He laughed non stop the whole show. At first I thought it would be over his head too... DS might not have understood all the slapstick comedy but he understood much about what the actors were saying and what was going on. Like all things Disney, there's something for everyone.

Food good enough. Hey, it's fried chicken and such. Our waitress was hilarious... very good for joking around with.

If you go, I recommend getting your photo taken before the show outside and buying the photo package when they bring it to your table. The one picture is of you and your family. On the other side is a great photo of the whole cast. It's hard to get good pictures during the show because of lighting and the actors are always moving.

Here's some pictures that show DS4 having a great time at Hoop Dee Doo.
