? 4 those just back from Castaway Cay

No. We brought lotion and forgot to use it. Didn't have a problem. We there on Thursday.

Nope. We too bought the lotion but forgot to use it. We snorkeled and swam on the family beach and had no problems. This was on Friday.

You must have been on my sailing. I loved the way it was heavily overcast all day--I floated in the water at Sb for a long time without worrying about getting burned.

I'm wondering the same thing. Will be there on October 13th which is our anniversary. Would hate to be itching at dinner that night! Or even worse - have a cranky uncomfortable 4 year old because of it.

It seems hit or miss - since it's getting into fall, I'm hoping they have moved on :boat:

Obviously I wasn't there and I don't know what sort of overcast day it was, but I got the second worst burn of my life (and I've had a few) on an overcast, not-obviously-sunny-at-all, day.

That is exactly what I was just about to post, the overcast day we had on the WBPC cruise in May, I got soooo burnt.

No sea lice, but even though I wore sunscreen and reapplied it a couple of times I still got sunburn

Yes! It was great. We reapplied twice. And around 3 it got super clear and hot!!! But I have to agree, it was wonderful to have all those big fluffy clouds that day!

Whats the lotion that I need to get. Thanks

SeaSafe.

Even when the larvae are present, not everyone will encounter them. You have to be in the same spot as they are. And that's not an absolute.

(should clarify that my second worst burn from that overcast day was in Santa Cruz CA, not Castaway...and I was 7, and it was awful.

And with the Bahamas, even with 30-50spf (can't recall which one, because I had to wash off my stuff that was causing a chemical burn and buy a $15 bottle from the shop on the island to hastily apply) and reapplications, inside of ONE HOUR I got a nasty nasty burn on the left side of my hip. The color difference lasted for a year. Be CAREFUL in the Bahamas, and be careful with overcast days!)

I live in SWFL at the same latitude as Grand Bahama and I only use SPF 70.

My worst sunburns were in early Aprils at the Long Beach Grands Prix in the late 70's and early 80's when I was in my late teens and early twenties. My ears and scalp got fried to a crisp...

They are selling Sea Safe and Sun screen on the ship.

I was wearing 60 FPS and applied every hour + after swimming. Still got bad sunburns.

Thank god they also sell Solarcaine on the ship. Saved the rest of my trip.
