I went on Hotwire to see what would come up for hotels. What would be considered a 4 star hotel near disneyland? It is coming up at a really good price, but I would like an idea of what it could possibly be as far as distance from the park. Any ideas?

I've read where this might be the Hilton and Towers. It won't be Disney Property. The Wescoast Anaheim and the Marriott are 3*, so there aren't many other biggies.

It is adjacent to the Convention Center just south of DCA. Complementary shuttle (I believe is shared by Wescoast Anaheim and Marriott). Still considered walking distance.

Let us know how you do and what your rate is.

Thanks,

UB

Here's a nice map link. The one at the bottom is a PDF of the area hotels.

Since you have time, you may want to try 4* on Priceline starting at a rate slightly lower. The Disneyland Area on Priceline is somewhat smaller than on Hotwire.

A good workplan, especially if you are staying a few days, is to start with Hotwire to determine a reasonable ceiling of where the bidding might top out on on Priceline. Then dash over to price line and put in a bid lower than the Hotwire price, then move up *'s until it's either accepted or exceeds your Hotwire price.

Many of the same hotels are found on Priceline and Hotwire. We've gotten Doubletrees in Seattle an Portland on both ($25/nightly rate each).

Good Luck.

just an FYI.......the Hilton has its own shuttle to the parks, so do the Marriott.
:D

We just came back from DL on the weekend and had stayed at the Marriott. When we were there, the main hotel tower was closed, as were their main lobby and restaurants due to renos. They told me that they would reopen this week. We stayed in the Oasis tower of the Marriott which was so-so. The shuttle was shared with the Westcoast Anaheim hotel, not the Marriott's own shuttle service. The Hilton, on the other hand, has its own shuttle service.

Both the Hilton and Marriott are walking distance to the main gate. We walked most of the time. Even closer to the main gate is the Portofino Inn and Suites, which looked really nice as well. If we had to do this again, we'd book the Hilton.
