The cashier explained to the guests in front of us that 4 snack items could count as 1 counter service credit if the items were bought before noon.
We were low on snack credits and had an abundance of CS so we went that route on a couple of days. It worked really well for us as DH and I each had a juice & pastry one day, and the other day I had chocolate croissant and french toast (more like a bread pudding - yum!!) and paid OOP for juice.
This may be particular to MK's Main Str Bakery, which is fab, so I thought I'd pass the tip along as I hadn't read about it yet. At Kusafiri in AK, we informed the cashier that we would like to do this before we ordered and she just ran it up as snack credits. I would have preferred it if she told us they didn't offer that upfront as we carried around one juice that we wouldn't have ordered otherwise.
Final caveat...this was on the 2007 DDP - hope this isn't another thing that's changed for 2008! (As it stands we won't be doing the DDP in 2008)
cheers,
