we are planning our next trip and are thinking of adding a cruise to the vacation.

our question-- we are going to stay at disney for a week and a half my question should we sta at disney for 1 week and then cruise for 4 nights or cruise for 7 night and stay at disney for 4.

we have been to disney many time and even got married there. we like to hang out at the resorts and go to the parks leisurely.

we had one bad expierence on our first and only cruise( the boat broke down for 2 days and drifted 60 miles) not a great experience so we are not sure if we want to just wet our feet with cruising or just jump right back in.

any info would be great.

I would say it really depends on if you want to go all the way to the Caribbean or if you would be happy in the Bahamas. You should check out the different ports on the Disney Cruise site and see which ports and excursions appeal to you. I personally have only been on the 7 day eastern and could not say enought about St. thomas, St. Martin was very nice too and of course they both go to wonderful Castaway Cay! Which ever you choose you'll have a great time! :sunny:

I vote for 7 nights at the parks and 4 nights on the cruise. To me, the cruise is perfectly wonderful and relaxing. For a "doubleDisney" trip like you're planning, it could be a mini "vacation from the vacation" that so many of us say we need we when we get back to the "real world."

:)

I'd vote for a shorter park stay and longer cruise. Of course, we've done that several times now. Our upcoming trip will be 5 days at the parks and 7 on the ship. If I could only do one, I'd take the ship!

The parks are fun, but are actually a lot of work for the mom...keeping everyone happy, where/what will we eat, etc. On the ship, everything is paid for in advance, you can eat when and what you want, and there is plenty for everyone to do. Also, the ship is very safe, and older kids don't "have to" hang with their hopelessly out of date parents (can you tell DD is turning 13?)

I would suggest Back-To-Back Cruises (7 day followed by a 4 day, 7 days leave on Saturday and 4 day on Sunday, so you'll just have to say in a hotel for a night in between).

I VERY much prefer DCL to WDW, but I'm sure I'm in the minority to this extream. But my point is that you have to decide what it is you like.

I'll throw out the suggestion of doing only a 4 day cruise because it sounds like you don't really like cruising. You describe your last experience as bad because the boat was drifting at sea for two days. On DCL (and others I'm sure) there are several days that you are exclusively at sea and DCL is able to make those days fun, so I would find it difficult to believe that a cruise ship couldn't to SOMETHING to help make up for drifting at sea to the point that you called it a bad experience. So if you're going to tempt the waters a second time, try the shorter trip. If you enjoy it, do a 7 day DCL next year.

thank you very much we are still undecided and the 7night cruise followed the 4 night soounds very nice but i would miss the parks to much. soo much to decide
thank you
