4 Hot Mamas take on the World 9/2011! *UPDATE 8/31* I'm leaving TODAY!!!

Yay, 100 days!!! I can't wait til I'm at 99 days, I love getting out of triple digits!! :rotfl:

If you don't like pineapple, you could always try the citrus swirl at Aloha Isle, I love that more than the pineapple Dole Whip! It's a swirl of orange and vanilla, and it's SO good! :thumbsup2

Ugh...I can't stand the Astro Orbiters, seriously, if you skip them, you're not missing anything! And they are really REALLY slow loading!

I've never:

- had a Dole Whip or Turkey Leg Neither have I
- ridden Astro Orbiter, Stitch's Great Escape, or The Enchanted Tiki Room it's been decades since I did Astro Orbiters - never with my kids. Did the others though
- attended MVMCP Nope - someday.....
- looked for DeVine Me niether
- ridden Triceratop Spin or visited The Boneyard We did TS, but not the Boneyard
- watched Flights of Wonder (nor do I have any desire to do this, as birds FREAK ME OUT) No desire either
- ridden Star Tours, Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, The American Idol Experience, or The Magic of Disney Animation It's been a long time since Star Tours - looking forward to it this year! Never did One Man's Dream, but enjoyed the other two.
- been to DTD a must every trip - SHOPPING!

I'm sure there's lots more, but those are just the ones I can think of right now!

So fun to plan what you want to do on your trip! We have our list of must-dos as well, but since MIL is joining us and it's her 1st time, we may alter it to make sure she gets to see the big things.

While making plans for Part 2 of my trip, I've realized there are quite a few things at WDW I've never done/seen/partaken of!

I've never:

- had a Dole Whip or Turkey Leg
- ridden Astro Orbiter, Stitch's Great Escape, or The Enchanted Tiki Room
- attended MVMCP
- looked for DeVine
- ridden Triceratop Spin or visited The Boneyard
- watched Flights of Wonder (nor do I have any desire to do this, as birds FREAK ME OUT)
- ridden Star Tours, Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, The American Idol Experience, or The Magic of Disney Animation
- been to DTD

I'm sure there's lots more, but those are just the ones I can think of right now!

Dole Whips are delicious! I get them when we stay at the Poly, a vanilla one, with a delicious brownie to go with it! I never had one in the parks.

Like you I haven't done Astro Orbiter, Stitch's Great Escape, or The Enchanted Tiki Room.

I finally saw DeVine in January!

I also haven't done Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, The American Idol Experience, or The Magic of Disney Animation.

Most of these are on my to do list, except Stitch, and American Idol, as long as the kids are with!

So far, here are the plans I have made for Monday 9/5 (of course, once our trip gets nearer I will verify park hours, what rides/attractions everyone would like to do, etc... so these plans may change between now and then!)

Epcot 9am-9pm

Arrive (hopefully) in time for rope drop
Grab FPs for Soarin' (or ride 1st, if the wait isn't too long, and get FPs for later)
Tour as much in Future World as we can before making our way over to the World Showcase (definitely try to hit Test Track, Soarin', and Spaceship Earth)

I'd like to get started on the World Showcase around 11 or 11:30. We'll start in Canada, then on to the U.K. and France, making our way to Les Chefs de France for lunch.

As I mentioned, I'm feeling so much better about our decision to cancel lunch at WCC and eat somewhere inside Epcot. And based on reviews I've read (and on what some of you have said) about Les Chefs de France, I think we made a great choice! (sidenote: I'm hoping Remy will make an appearance while we're dining... and I haven't told the others of the possibility of Remy showing up, so they're in for a surprise if he does!)

Once lunch is finished, we'll continue with our counter-clockwise tour of the World Showcase.

I can't tell you how excited I am to take a leisurely stroll through all the countries. On my family's trips, the only pavilions my kids were interest in were Mexico and Norway, and only because of the rides!

And what I'm looking forward to most? Two words: Karamell. Küche.

(I told y'all I need to stay away from the Disney food blog!)

So after touring the countries to our hearts' content, we'll go back to Future World for those attractions we didn't get a chance to see before lunch, or that we want to do again. In addition to Test Track, Soarin', and Spaceship Earth, the other FW attractions we'll hopefully see are:

The Seas with Nemo & Friends (and maybe Turtle Talk with Crush)
Journey Into Imagination
Mission: SPACE (not 100% sure we'll do this one... but we're all in agreement that if we do, it will be the Green Team!)
Living With the Land
Innoventions

Dinner will be worked in whenever we feel like it... if we're still in the WS when it's dinnertime, we'll eat at one of the countries' QS places. If we're in the middle of FW, we'll probably head to Sunshine Seasons for dinner. I've eaten at the QS places in Japan and Mexico, and both were really good. In fact, I don't think I've read anything negative about any QS meals from the WS countries. I've eaten at Sunshine Seasons and it's a really good place, too. Needless to say, I don't think we have to worry about not being able to find a yummy dinner!

When it's time for IllumiNations we'll find a good spot to watch the show, and then it will be time to head back to the condo!

What do you think of our Epcot day? Am I missing anything that you think we definitely need to make plans to see?

Your Epcot day looks great! :thumbsup2 Looks like you will see just about everything!

Karamell Kuche is SO amazing...just the way it smells when you walk in is enough, you don't even have to buy anything!

With a newbie with you, I think you need to be sure and see Turtle Talk. It's so fun - and I have often laughed til I cried :)

You know...we have only done WS clockwise. I wonder why that is?!

It's the same for us, we always head to Mexico first because the kids love The Grand Fiesta Tour! How wonderful it will be to take your time exploring it all!

I keep reading about Karamell Küche and will definately need to stop in there! The hardest part will be deciding what I want. I try to eat healthy at home, so when I'm on vacation, I want it all!

Yep, I have a feeling I'll want one of everything!:rotfl:

How funny, I think we've always gone counter-clockwise. With the kids, my reasoning for this was to postpone Norway and Mexico... they knew those were the only countries with rides. If they rode those first and then had to walk around the rest of WS with nothing "fun" to look forward to on the other end... hmmm, I think we'd have had a mutiny on our hands!

For us Part 2 girls, I thought it would be best to start in Canada and work or way towards our Les Chefs lunch. Didn't make sense to start in Mexico and either rush through the countries on our way to France, or stop when it was time for lunch and have to hoof it all the way to UK, only to go back to where we left off.

Your Epcot plan sounds great. A nice leisurely day and from what I've heard about last year, it wasn't busy Labor Day weekend at all so you should get all your rides in twice even. We left that Saturday of Labor Day weekend. :sad1: And OMg I was drooling over the food blog post about Karamelle Kuche. I went to Germany a few years ago and my favorite pictures from the trip are 2 pictures I took of pastry shop windows. Devine!

Ah-a - I understand now. I guess I have girls who like to shop and eat! :thumbsup2 They always want to eat around the world. They like looking in all the shops. With Japan being the favorite - checking out the Hello Kitty and Pokemon - and watching people do the pick a pearl. We have never managed to have time to really check out England and Canada - and this year they want to make a point of going through Canada looking for Beaver Butt soap :lmao:

Your Epcot day plans sound great! I hope Remy makes an appearance during your lunch.

Hmmm...Karamelle Kuche!! :cloud9:

Seems like you have everything covered with the FW attractions - we will also be riding the green side of MS!

When I was looking at menus all of the WS QS menus looked great - I agree in that I don't think you can go wrong with eating at any of the places.

I'm not even 100% sure we'll do MS... it will be one of those rides/attractions that if we have time to do it and there isn't a long line, we'll do it. But if we skip it, we won't feel too badly for doing so!
