4 FastPass tickets at the same time?

Today I read article on the internet about how some of the fastpass machines at WDW are not connected to the rest of the system and allow you to get 4 passes at once. Is this true? I would think Disney would catch onto something like this real quick and stop it. Or do they know and just let it go on? Is this also happening at DL?

Between DL and DCA you could actually hold more than 4 FP at once. However you'd have to run around to a lot of far corners of the parks to get them, and your return time might overlap, meaning they'll either go unused, or you'll be running again.

But to answer the question, the rides that are usually disconnected are RSR & Screamin' in DCA and Roger Rabbit in DL. So you could hold FP for Roger Rabbit, plus another DL ride. Also RSR, Screamin', WOC and another DCA ride. In theory, after collecting those, your time to get another FP in one of the parks could come up before you've used any of those FPs and you could then get another one.

You cannot hold 4 FP for the same disconnected ride at the same time.

As SMD said, it is possible, and it's not something sneaky or underhanded. It's done on purpose!

Those disconnected rides have had notoriously long waits in the past, or will have an unusually long time before you can use them. With WOC, for example--if it was connected, you would pull the FP for a show at 9:15pm, and then not be able to get a FP for anything else for another 2 hours. Who would do that?! Instead, they have it disconnected, so that you can get your FP for WOC while holding another FP, so you aren't being "punished" for getting a FP that can't be used for many many hours. Make sense? It confused me, too, in the beginning of my DL trips, especially when they weren't enforcing FP return times back then!

Word is that RR has been connected for some time.

There is not now nor has there ever been a limit on how many FPs you can have in your possession at once. The limit is only on how often you can get them.

Now that the FP windows are enforced, it is more difficult to hold four active FPs for windows that have not yet passed. But it is entirely possible. It is not dependent on the disconnected FP rides but those certainly help.

Here is a scenario where you could get four FPs at DL with none of them disconnected.

11AM - pick up a FP for Space Mtn that has a return window of say 6-7PM. Next time you can get a FP is two hours later at 1PM.

1PM - pick up a FP for IJA with a return window of say 8-9PM. Next time you can get a FP is two hours later at 3PM.

3PM - Pick up a FP for BTMRR with a return window of 4-5PM. Next time you can get a FP is when the MTMRR window opens which is one hour later.

4PM - Pick up a FP for Star Tours or Splash Mtn with a return window of say 9-10PM.

You now have four active FPs. You can get more than four using the same process just outlined.

And if you access disconnected FP rides at DCA you can get even more. If you parkhop to DCA in between getting the DL FPs above you can have even more between the two parks.
