4 drinks, anyone?

Here's something you'll never hear an American researcher say:

“people who already regularly consume low to moderate amounts of alcohol should be encouraged to continue,” they add.

It makes me wonder who funded the research, notwithstanding how badly I want to believe the results.

My own family's behavior doesn't back up this finding at all:

On my mother's side, most family members are either non-drinkers or very light drinkers. Most of the women have lived well into their 90s and have enjoyed exceptionally good health until their final years.

On my father's side, most of the family was alcoholic -- obviously, they drank more than this study recommends, but they all had medical problems and didn't enjoy long lives.

Hmmm . . . I choose to be more like mom's side. Forget this research!

Good. Then there's hope for me. No need to take up drinking then.

No, but one of my coworkers didn't have to worry about what to cook for supper last night.

Did you read the link? The very first line stated: Moderate drinking may lengthen your life, while too much may shorten it, researchers from Italy report. I would say your father's side is right in line with this study.

Yummmmmyyy, I love unidentifiable meat substances of unknown origins. I think the chicken beaks and pig intestines are what adds the flavor. :teeth:
