Well, I am bummed. I originally thought we would go out to WDW for a week, but the timing, expense, flight schedule and kids outside activities are going to cut into my week. Next thought was we could swing 6 days 5 nights, but now it looks like it's going to be 4 days, 4 nights, literally since we will have to catch a 7:00 am return flight on what would have been day 5. It's been 8 years since I've been to WDW, and well, I guess I am more excited about the trip than my 8 year old or my 13 year old. I don't know about any of you, but I have spent hours online looking at every possible plan, comment, idea, etc. trying to make this work. I am going to have to buy our non-refundable plane tickets by 8/17 since Continental is changing its frequent flier rules, and we are using some miles to purchase our tickets. The new change rules will be $150 per ticket (ouch), so whatever I buy will be the dates we go. I have 2 reservations, but just can't decide, and I keep going back and forth. The trip is months away, and I should be jumping up and down for joy at the idea of the trip, but I really want to stay that extra fifth night. I guess you could say I am suffering from "planning indecision", as this is is where the "wants" and the pocket book align. Well 4 days should still work out right? We could visit 1 park per day, and even though it won't be the relaxing pace I first envisioned, it will still be great right? Plus it's not like this will be the last time we visit. I needed to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening. :confused3

14 days are not enough! 8 days are not enough. you have four days that you wouldn't have if you couldn't go. Think of how much fun it will be to pick and choose the very best of what you can do in that time. Four days are just fine. Please just remember not to spoil it by trying to jam everything in so you are stressed the whole four days. Relax and enjoy the time and the place and the smiles and the magical moments. Sprinkle a little pixie dust on you and yours each morning and have a wonderful time!

My next trip is a 4 day one with my DGD 2 1/2 - all she can handle. I am so excited I cant stand it....

This is how I look at it: If I had to choose between 4 days or not at all, I would choose 4 days. If you know you are going to go again I would go for the 4 days. If it was your only trip ever then I would say try to go longer. Hope that helps.

Ok thanks for the reminder not to jam too much in. My kids are already sick of hearing about the trip, because I keep talking "logistics" and that is not stuff kids want to know about. Ah, don't you love "travel research"! I guess part of my "indecisiveness" is that I don't want to spring for the park hopper option, but during our timeframe Fantasmic will only be available once and I missed it 8 years ago which sort of dictates the order of the parks. This means I won't get to go to MK until the end of the trip (ok day 3) and for me WDW is really about MK. I had hoped to spend 2 days there, but don't see how we can, unless we park hop or extend the trip by one night. I think you hit the nail on head - I want to cram as much in as possible, and already I am stressing out. Gee, I'm trying to let go of wanting to cram it all in, but it is harder than I thought. :scared: What's a girl to do!!!!
