4 Days- Too Long?

We always do 5 days and it's never enough.

The pool at the GCH is very nice. It does have more of an adult feel to it than the DLH pool.

If you're planning on spending time back at the hotel during the afternoon, you might consider renting a cabana with that size group. You can rent them from 9-1 or 2-6 if you want a half day. It would be especially nice for the older adults. Would also be nice for the kids to have someplace to park during their non-pool time. The cabanas have shade and sofas, as well as refrigerators, a tv, and a safe. Another thing to keep in mind is that as guests of the GCH, you have access to the Disneyland Hotel pool. I only mention this because of the age of the kids. They'd probably get a kick out of the slides. You could also rent a cabana at the DLH.

Technically you're only supposed to have 6 in a cabana, but they shouldn't say anything about one extra adult.

Seems like it takes us 2 or 3 days to kinda get into a routine and slow down. Then all of the sudden we're on the last day and wonder where it went!
Another vote for 5 days.

We spent 7 nights at DLH last month for our first trip. We had a five day ticket plus a special event, so we had 6 park days. We did three full park days (with midday breaks), two half days and then the special event which was another half day. We had two pool days (one we went to park in evening just for dinner and to see PTN). We could have stayed longer!

I really appreciate the responses and feel a little silly now for having asked if 4 days are too much. I look forward to having extra time to relax amidst the madness that is exploring a Disney park. I think I will go ahead and book a Halloween Party also, I just need to decide whether to go on Wednesday night or Friday night. Since Friday night will be our last night, I'm thinking the Party might be a nice farewell.

When I last went, we did three days. I don't know if I could have done a fourth. Not necessarily because of what there was to do, more of a case of all the walking. The advantage you always hear, is that both parks are so close, and you can walk between them. Unfortunately, the disadvantage of them being so close, is that you have to walk between them. You're always on your feet this way. Between the parks, the hotels, and Downtown Disney, you walk EVERYWHERE at Disneyland. There is something to be said when talking a bus, boat, or train between locations. At the end of the days, I would see people getting on the tram, headed to the parking lot, and I was just wishing that the tram would take me back to the Grand Californian.
