I will be visiting WDW next month for 8 days but my daughter, fiance & baby will be joining me for the last 4 days. The 4th day is travel day so since we will only have about 3 hours our last day, I chose AK. I also decided to just get base tickets for them (I can't decide to get a hopper for me since I will have 4 days to myself before they join me or just do base).

Here is my itinerary :

Wed 12/17/08 - MK (open late) they will arrive at hotel around 1 p.m. so since MK is open late, thought this best choice. Will try to get dinner ADR for Crystal Palace. UPDATE: PDM2309 INFORMED ME THAT AFTER RESEARCHING ON MORE RELIABLE WEBSITES THAT THE MK IS NOT OPEN LATE - NOW WHAT!!

Thurs 12/18/08 - Epcot - have 1:30 pm. lunch ADR @ Coral Reef w/diver & personalized menu

Fri 12/19/08 - Hollywood Studios - (I really think her fiance will enjoy this park best of all)

Sat 12/20/08 - Animal Kingdom - check out of BWV then get to rope drop by 9 am then hit EE, Safari and couple of the trails as highlights - maybe even have lunch at Pizzafari b4 we head back to hotel to catch ME.

My DBFF & I had the same amount of days back in February but did in a little different order because of ADR's but hit AK the last day. We even had lunch at Rainforest and made it back to hotel to catch ME by 1:30 pm.

This is my daughter's 2nd visit (last was in 1997), her fiance's & grandson's first visit. Suggestions anyone?

I don't think MK is open late on the 17th. I asked a question about that earlier b/c the EMH on the official website and those on here didn't match up. You may want to double check on that date.

Thanks, pdm2309!! I double checked on here again and it shows it as an EMH night. But on the Disney website, kingdommagictravel.com, the mouseforless.com, it shows Animal Kingdom open late on the 17th - what gives?? Now I really have to rethink this lol.

One thought is that you could flip flop MK and Animal Kingdom. One of the two of them has EMH on the evening of the 17th.

We went once during evening EMH in October at Animal Kindom and it was empty, especially into the last hour.

I'm not sure this would give them as much time at MK as they wanted.

I have to agree with you that it might not be enough time for MK going on the last day. I was going to save Epcot for last day but I wanted them to see Illuminations plus we have the diver reserved. I'll sit down with my daughter this weekend to see what she thinks. Maybe we could do AK first day, Epcot 2nd day, MK third day and HS for last?

I didn't know you had a thread on here about the park hours not matching up. Wonder how we could get that fixed?!! :surfweb: (well how we could suggest it) btw thanks for your suggestions!

Yeah I know. I was planning for a trip with a 6 year old, so EMH in MK would have worked out great since that is his favorite park. If you ever find out for sure, please let me know.

Hope you have a great trip . . . less than a month away.

I assume you are asking about recommendations for 12/13-12/16, so here are mine:

12/13: Magic Kingdom - Saturday is one of the lightest crowd days for the Magic Kingdom
12/14: Animal Kingdom
12/15: Epcot - Magic Kingdoms and Animal Kingdom both have Extra Magic Hours this day, so there will be many less people at Epcot
12/16: Disney's Hollywood Studios - The 13th and the 14th are both EMH days for this park, so crowd levels will be much higher

Thanks for the recommendations! I wasn't even thinking of what to plan for myself (only was trying to figure out my daughter's part of the trip especially since MK isn't open late like I'd originally planned for.)

You brought up a good point - stay away from the parks that have EMH and visit another less crowded park (since everyone will mostly be at the EMH park). Thanks!! :thumbsup2

I had always gone to parks that had the EMH and now I may change my plans and go to the parks that don't have EMH to see if the crowds really are less.
