Two friends of mine and I decided to go to WDW for a few days. While I am regular, they have been as kids and not for a very long time.
Flew from NY to MCO, Magical Express, Everything was very smoth and fast. \We stayed at SSR w/ DVC points. Upon arrival, room was not ready, so we decided to get a bite to eat at Artists' Pallette. I though kids were playing Pictionary, then I realized the artisit "s Pallette had little drawind boards! Cute idea. Anyway lunch was very good-I split w/ a friend the flatbread pizza and Saratoga Salad (YUM).
We soon met up w/ Brian from www.gardengrocer.com with whom I had been in contact. I made arrangements prior to the trip for the delivery of certain grocery items. He was very accomadating and very easy to work with-Brian is also a very nice man. I would recommend this service gain and again.

Anyway, we settled at the pool for a bit until the room was ready. What seemed like a long walk to our room, really wqsn't. It was the "not knowing where we are going" makes it seem like a long way. I am sure bell svcs. would have gladly brought us to our room, but we thought it wa good idea to walk as much as possible. Anyway, SSR-big resort. lovely resort. Our room faced DTD-that was some view! We could hear the music at PI at night.

After more pool, we went by ferry to DTD. We ate at Raglan Road-very good. The best Shepard's Pie-awesome!The fish and chips were also great. Had the crab pastry-it was just ok.
We then went to the Comedy Club-very funny followed by Adventurer'ws Club, not as funny, but still very good. The rest of PI was filled w/ kids and kids that looked like thugs. My friend, who is a NYC cop for 18yrs, had her radar up. It was a bit sleazy cheesy! Yes it was a Friday night. I hope that is why it seemed that way. Anyway, we wlked over tot the MarketPlace and took a ferry home-by midnight. Long first day.

Day2 We decided we were doing 1 park day and to hop. So went to MK in the morning. The girls picked out specific rides/attractions they wanted to go on and that is what we did. FASTPASS is the way to go. My friend couldn't understand why all those other people were not using FASTPASS-beats me?
MK was great as usual, but our real goal for the day was to "DRink and eat around the World Showcase", so we headed to EPCOT where we met 2 other friends who just arrived that day.
Tried to FP Soarin',but all out of FP for the day-by 4:00. So we skipped the 75 min. line ane went right to World Showcase. We started in UK-Rose and Crown. Graet fun. The piano was very entertaining and responsive to the crowd. The drinks were good, people funa and friendly. Then we went to see "The Briitish Invasion" That was good-just long enough.

We moved to France for some wine and Brie. We each had a different selection-all good. Then Morrocco-we just could not get out of here! Loved the beer, hummus MO-rockin' and the bellydancer. We really had a great time in Morrocco. Then we found ourselves in Italy. yummy wine. We found oruselves having a conversation about religion. % Catholic girls drinking wine in Italy-what do you expect?
Next. I think we wnet to Germany. We defianately were passing some countries and starting to zip through as we had lingered in the UK and Morrocco. Good beer-awesome pretzels-so buttery! After hangign out in Germany I bit we realized it was 8:50, fireworks were at 9:00 and we wanrted Marageheritas in Mexico-so we ran to Mexico-very funny. Got our frozen drinks and watched the show.
AS if the day was not long enough, we decided to go to the Boarwalk! Some of the carnival exhibits were still open, so we had fun at those. Then went into the Brewery for a sampler.Yikes! We should have gone home-but no. we continued to Atlantic Dance. We had a fun time dancing in there --until all of the music started sounding the same to us 40yr. olds! Whew! still another day and a half leeft!

We were a little slow on the go today-wonder why?(see yesterday-don't remind me!)
Anyway, this would be a tour of the resort day. The 2 friends who met us yesterday were going to MK today, so the other 3 of us had planned to meet them later for dinner at CR. We had PS or ADR-whatever they are called at the Concourse Steakhouse. So we headed over to the GF to take in it's grandeur. After the GF for a few hrs. we headed over to Wilderness Lodge via monorail then boat. My friend used the gym (DVC member) and the other 2 of us went to the pool. Very relaxing. We then showered and took the boat to CR. As we were on the boat, we looked up and started to talk about California Grill.-never been there, people book ressies months ahead of time, etc. Enter CR up escalotor w/ Cal. Grill check-in desk in front of us-"Oh let's just as" So we did and yes we can accomadate you in the Lounge-ok-so up we wnet. We called our 2 friends and said-No we are not going to the Concourse Steakhouse, meet us at the Cal. Grill, but take the special elevator-they were confused, but made it up to join us.
Cal. Grill -definately the highlight of this trip. Everything was awesome. The service, the wine, the food, the view, the atmosphere all great -and then we had the added treat of the Wishes fireworks show . It was spectacular!

Day4-pack, relax pool, do airline check-in at resort(very nice convenience) and then home!

Overall-a great trip for me and very different than when I go w/ DH and DK's.

nezy - glad you had a fun time. I still haven't gotten up the nerve to try "drinking around the world" but will have to give it a try sometime.

Thanks for the report!!! :thanks:

Thank you for the report- great fun!

I tried drinking around the Showcase. I got a marghareta in Mexico, and that was it for me. ;)

Would be fun to drink around the World sometime - but I'm a little stumped here about Mexico - what is a marghareta? :confused3

My Spelling was way off-Margarita-maybe?
Anyway , I know there is Tequila and lime juice and maybe something else. Usually there is a frozen Maragrita mixer. After all the beer the sweet frozen drink hit the spot! Not really sure just know I like them!

Ok now I know what you both meant - you both spelled it the same way so I wasn't even thinking (thought it was a drink I hadn't heard of yet and was anxious to try something new when at the World). Love Margarita's and will have to try one there next time Now back to my morning coffee :coffee:

Sounds fantastic ~ Thanx for sharing.
