4 Day Bahama Cruise

We are taking the 4 day Wonder cruise this June and have some questions about what to do at Nassau/Paradise Island. We would like to spend some time at Atlantas Resort. Should we take the Cruise tour or find a way there on our own? I have heard comments on this board about doing it either way. Any help would be appreciated.

We have been on 4 of the 4-night cruises and have always taken a taxi from the ship to Atlantis. Right at the end of the pier you'll find any number of drivers waiting to take you. We've always paid $4.00pp each way plus $1.00 for the toll on the way over (no toll coming back). Sometimes we were in a limo and other times in a van and always had another family or couple or two ride with us.

The taxi, I believe, is quicker than taking one of the ferry boats so you'll have more time to spend at Atlantis. We've always found the drivers to be very courteous and anxious to answer any questions you may have about Nassau. Just be prepared to possibly have your heart in your mouth as you drive over and back. Not the same rules of the road we're used to!

We did the Atlantis Beach day excursion. I think next time I'd take a taxi. We ended up taking a taxi back ($12 for 4 people) just to avoid having to walk back to where the tour van would pick us up.
