4 become 10: Day 5 Blizzard Beach and MNSSHP

Tuesday 27th September

We had a bit of a lie in this morning as BB doesn't open untill 10am. We got there just after park opening. We found a great spot just by the main pool.

We love BB and the kids couldn't wait to get in the water......we all headed for the lasy river

The kids spent some time in the wave pool and then we went for some lunch.

I think BB has quite a good selection of counter service food and we enjoyed what we had.

While most of the adults laid in the sun, DH took the kids to Ski Patrol.....they realy enjoy playing here.

When they returned we got this to share....

.....it was huge...but yummy

Then we all went on Team boat springs.

We left the park at 4pm to get ready for MNSSHP

We got changed and everyone came to our room so that I could apply the face paint... we were done and ready to leave at 5.30pm....the bus stop was packed and there was no room on the first bus that arrived.

We arrived at MK and DH went straight to City Hall to pick up some candy for Ieuan as he has a nut allergy and they gave us a bag of nut free candy.

While we were waiting a guy came and asked if he could take our photo.....he was dressed like a cowboy, which I tought was his costume.....It wasn't, I saw him later in our holiday and he was dressed exactly the same

We walked up a packed Main street

We stopped to have some Photopass photos but it was quite difficult as they were trying to direct non party guests down the left side of the street to the exit and party guests were comming up the right side of the street....very packed and hard to pose for photos.

We headed over to Tomorrow land, there was a huge line for buzz....a long line for candy which seemed to move quite slowly.

The kids voted for Space Ranger Spin, there was a 10min queue but as we got on.....the ride broke down...we were stuck right at the start....the part that looks like your moving but your actually not......after a couple of mins I had to shut my eyes as it was making me feel sick When it restarted we enjoyed the ride and DH beat my score....he always does

Next was Monsters Inc Laughter Floor......this was so fun and we were included in the show....when Mike said that he can see spots

We picked up some counter service in cosmic rays and ate quickly so that we could see more of the party.

We stoped to get some candy, again the line was long but this one moved a bit quicker.

We walked into Fantasy land and the queues were nuts.....so we headed towards the Haunted Mansion, as you have to ride this on Halloween......the wait time was 40mins....we weren't going to wait that long and the fireworks would be starting while we were on it.

We decided to find a spot for the fireworks.....it was so crowded and when we found a spot in front of the castle we got pushed and run ove constantly.....we found this hard going....Moli had a melt down and cried for about 5mins

The fireworks started and they were spectacular as always but when they finished we could hardly move....we were going to watch the Villans Mix and Mingle but people had started to get there spot for the Boo to you parade.

In 2009 we walked up to the kerb 5 mins before the headless horseman came down mainstreet.....so the crowds were a bit of a surprise to us.

We decided that we would rather get a good spot for the parade than watch the villans....so we headed through to Liberty Square and found a front row spot. DH went for drinks and Popcorn and was gone ages ans the line was so long.

However we loved the parade it was fab

After the parade we decided to wait the 20mins for the Haunted mansion

We loved the grave yard and the changes to the ride.....but while we were riding it broke down and we had a little wait for it to restart.

After the ride we had photos taken infront of the haunted mansion......these are not on my photopass so I'm chasing disney for these.

The kids wanted to ride thunder mountain in the dark and it was a walk on.....I asked if we could ride up front......it was so different in the dark. The kids liked it so much we ran arround and with mins to spare got on the last ride of the evening.

We took a slow walk out of the park

We got the bus back to AKL.....we were quite excited as it was a DCL bus....never been on one before but it was lovely.

All in all we had a nice evening but to be honest, because it was so busy and we didn't get too much done.....I don't think this time it was worth the extra money. Such a shame as in 2009 it was fantastic.

We haven't do BB for a few years now - must give it another try.
MNSSHP - We would love to visit, but not too sure above the crowds
A few years back Disney did Pirates & Princesses evening, but I think the Halloween event may have taken over.
You made a good job of the make-up !

Looks like you had a great time at BB We were at the same party as you and if it makes you feel any better (probably not) there is speculation that the party of the 27th was sold out. I was speaking to someone (a DISer ) who was behind us in line for the Dwarves that evening. She wanted to get party tickets for the Friday night as well and when she called she was told the Friday party was sold out.

When the Friday night party goers started to arrive back at our resort I asked them how they enjoyed the party. Everyone was very positive but the general consensus was that it was "insanely busy." One couple mentioned that they had been at the Tuesday night party as well and they felt that Friday was "crazy, but not as bad as Tuesday."

The only thing we wanted to do that we didn't manage was meeting Cruella. Oh well, you can't do everything I suppose.

Love your costumes by the way. So cleverly simple and effective and not too hot. We found the evening of MNSSHP that night was pretty warm. Did you find it much harder navigating a party with a larger group?

We are not used to such crowds, so we found it realy hard and I think the fact that their was 10 of us actually made it worse to navigate such a busy park. Like I said though, we love the fireworks and parade....we wanted to meet cruella, just didn't have the time

Yes, the number of people makes a big difference. We are used to just being two of us so it is easy to slip through crowds etc, but the second party, despite being a fraction as busy as this one there were 6 of us and it was definitely a wake up call as to how your party size affects navigation. It looks like you made the most of it and had a great night though
