4/8/13 - Wonder 5 night Western - who's in?

Hi guys!! So glad I found this board! We are so excited to be going on this cruise, our 2nd with DCL. We are a family of four with 2 girls, ages 7 and 2. I'm a bit nervous taking my 2 year old (she doesn't do so well sometimes w/ sit down dinners :) ) but we'll make the best of it!

It's been 4 years since our first cruise, and this is our first time as a family of four! Can't wait!!:cheer2:

Welcome! If your 2yo starts to be too much to handle I think you can ask for the food to go and eat it in your stateroom. Not quite the same I know but still an option. My 2yo niece struggled on our first DCL cruise last June but she got better as the cruise went along.

We'll be assisting some friends on this cruise who have a young daughter. Easy to just take her for 5-10 minutes and then hand her off to someone else :).

Just a thought ... when we cruised with our then 2 yo last May, we made a reservation one night in Flounders Reef for him and also left our 4 year old in the kids club so we could have one dinner as adults. The kids can have dinner in their respective areas, if they are there during normal dinner time. Our servers have always been pretty accommodating for the kids too, entertaining them with mickey shaped ketchup, napkin animals and such. There are also coloring pages and crayons available at each meal, however, I've found it helps if you bring a couple of extra favorite small toys to dinner too.

Can't believe my eyes tonight when I looked at our count-down calendar and see that in 62 days we will be sailing on the Wonder!!!:goodvibes Time is going by so quickly. Is anyone else working on their FE gifts besides me???? I decided this time around to start early instead of waiting till the last minute. :wave2:

What is the count up to for the FE? I haven't committed either way and although I know that myself and DD1 would love it, I'm nervous about packing space since this is our first vacation with 2 kids and don't know how much FE "stuff" would add to that!

Anyway, gets some more info about us...I'm Jen, DH is Brandon, DD1 is Andrea (will be just shy of 4) and DD2 is Lyla (will be 16 months). We're from CT, or first Disney Cruise and first cruise with kids. Can't wait!

Thanks for the info Jen! I'll update our roll call with your family info. Currently we have six families for FE. I will set a cut off date probably in another week or so, just to make sure the families participating have plenty of time to plan. Below is the list.

Hi All,

As our WONDER-ful cruise is fast approaching, I think we need to set a cutoff date for FE participation. If you are thinking about joining the exchange, now is the time to make a decision. Please let us know if you are going to participate no later than Sunday, February 24. We'd love to have more families join - the more the merrier. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!!
Jessica

Countdown clock reads "1 month 4 wks" till our WONDER-ful cruise begins....:dance3:

We're looking forward to the cruise and also the FE! Looks like we have a good group participating....... as Jessica mentioned - the more the merrier.

Was wondering what excursion plans everyone was looking at..... anyone planning on the Jeep Exploration tour in Cozemel? :rolleyes1

Hey guys -

Sorry I've been MIA lately - it's been nuts around here! Both my boys play hockey (older son is on the city travel team) and my daughter is a gymnast, and we're in the midst of their crazy time. Four more weeks and we can breathe again!! 13 more hockey games, 2 more gym meets. We can do it!! :rotfl:

We'd be up for the FE - if you're still taking names.

DH will be 38, I'll still be 37 (for a few more weeks :thumbsup2)

DS1 will be 10, and DS2 and DD will have just turned 8 on the 7th (day before we embark).

We're in 8504/8506.

Looks like we are at eight families for the FE exchange. The cutoff to participate is this coming weekend, so if you are interested, please let me know. I will update the FE list and roll call after this weekend, since we've had a few folks join our group. Yay! :cool1:

Our kids keep saying that they wish it was April already so we can go on the Mickey Boat. I have to admit that I am really hoping the next seven weeks go by quickly too.

I was telling my wife last night that I wish it was 9 days rather than 49 :). Booking so close to the cruise date made it seem right around the corner, at least compared to our 2014 cruise date, but boy has the time been dragging!

Hopefully the next 6 weeks fly by and the last week allows us all time to wrap up anything that might distract us on the cruise!

Hey, everyone! I've been busy so haven't been on in the past 2 weeks. We have no food allergies in our family. We'll be in 8040. And we're another family from the Atlanta area! :)
