4/7 ticket question

Hi guys - I need some help because my head is starting to spin. We're off to the cabins at FW april 26 - May 7th. In the past I always got an AP rate so we bought my DH, DS and my mother's tickets ahead of time before the rates went up but I did NOT buy my AP because I always wait until I know I can get an AP rate. However, the 4 for 7 deal came out so I booked that with one day base tickets. Here is my question - can the 3 one day base tickets (adult) be used by me? I know that I can upgrade my ticket but I'm assuming I can't assimilate all three into one but if I could use the other one day tickets I would only have to upgrade to a five day hopper instead of a seven day. Does that make sense? AHHHHH my head hurts.

I dont really know the answer, but I would suspect you would not be able to use all 3 single days tickets for yourself this trip. I posted a ticket question once and it turned out that the answer was listed in the "sticky" under the ticket thread. Myabe you'll find your answer there as well. If not, then my reply will give you a "bump" and someone better qualified can respond. Hope it all works out for you!

I would get the 7 day tickets. Use your 7 day ticket and save the other two for your next visit. That seems most cost effective to me.

Yes, you may use all three one day base tickets for yourself. But WHY!?! Each ticket is ~$75. It sounds like you'll be there 12 days. More than 11 days in the park and an AP becomes the cheapest form of admission, assuming hoppers. Either way, it is only about $3 per day after three days to add days. Even though the three one-day base tickets are relatively equal in price to a three-day ticket, then you have to add days again at ~$75 per day (starting over since you cannot combine tickets) to cover the rest of your vacation. That only works if you'll only be in the parks, non-hopping for three days. I think you are better off upgrading one ticket for you and saving the other two for a future trip.

You might want to look at THIS short thread. It explains cost benefits of the 4/3 deal and upgrading. There is also a small how-to. It might answer some of your questions. Excuse my laziness in not answering it all outright.
