My DH (what does that mean?) and I are contemplating Disney trip in Aug at end of 4/3. If I reserve this week, can I cancel later? Also, am I correct that 4/3 is better than FD? We are looking at staying at the Poly. This will be our fourth trip since May last year! We are addicted!!!

Hi and welcome!

You and your Dear Husband may have to crunch the numbers, but for my family of 5, it was almost a tradeoff; the difference was under $10. (Plus, as teachers, the timing worked out for us. Free dining is pretty much too late.)

For the two of you, dining costs a total of about $80 per night. So if you're planning on staying 7 nights, it would save you approximately $560.

Depending on which room you have at the Poly (which is where we'll be in early Aug:) ) you'll probably do better than that on 4/3-- I think the rooms start at about $325 a night, right? So 4/3 would save you $975.

But check availability for your dates first. That may turn out to be the deciding factor.

I appreciate the reply! Any feedback on cancelling later and costs involved?

Yes, I think you can really save if you go for 4/3 deal. It's the best deal for us. Anyway, welcome to DISboards and may you have a great time in your upcoming trip.

Have a nice and safe trip. :)

I am also a newbie on here, and the lingo sometimes perplexes me. What is 4/3? Also, how do I get the icon thingys to stay on the bottom of my posts? ie: the countdown thing.

Thanks,

Hi!

The 4/3 deal is Disney's current promo. Pay for 4 nights at a Disneyworld resort, get 3 free. It's a great savings, from now till August 15, with a few blackout dates near Easter.

To find it, go to http://bookwdw.reservations.disney....rocessEngine?startOver=true&gatewayID=landing
and click on the "Special Offers" link in the upper right hand corner.

Everything below that black line in my post is part of my Signature. go to User CP in the top left hand corner, then to "edit signature."
The easiest way to get a ticker is to click on someone else's. That will take you to the site where they got it, and you just follow the directions. It's incredibly easy.

Thanks ALICEAC that info was helpful to me as well. Just love planning these trips. There are so many options to consider. But these threads are really helpful.

You're both welcome!

I learned SO much last year before our first trip in 2 decades. It's nice to be able to pay a bit back.

I'd take the 4/3 deal as you will save a lot since you are staying a the Poly.
The free dining plan while good the 4/3 is better. This way you are also not tied down to counting points eating so much dessert. Since you go so much I'd suggest the 10 day park hopper non expiring ticket with water park options. I believe if you cancel less than 45 days out you will be charged $200.
