So I just booked the 4/3 promotion for 5/24-6/3. I was once told by a CM that I should always book more nights (safety) if I wasn't sure how many nights I needed. I booked 10 nights because I don't know what date we'll be able to leave due to school, airfare, etc., but we will probably only need 7. I will be modifying as soon as I know and before our 45 day balance is due. So should I be concerned that we might have to move resorts or change to a different room type, or since I have these dates secured it will just be a matter of removing the dates I don't need and everything else stays the same? Has anyone else done this or have any info? I know when a promotion booking period is over and you need to change anything, you have to speak with guest services and if you're moving resorts it all depends on availability. Thanks. I hope this isn't too confusing!

From personal experience I agree it is better to overbook than under.
On overbooking the dates have just to be removed that are no longer needed.
Under book and good luck getting what you want. It's a real crap shoot then and depends solely on availability.

Well, here's on for you just to confuse you.

I'm booked 6/6-6/14. We could do that, but I just found out DS7 has Cub Scout camp starting 6/15, so I would rather do 6/5-6/13 to give him a little rest. The new dates are not available though, unless I do 6/5-6/14.

Disney reserves so many rooms at discounts for certain length stays. So your new number of nights might not be available. It's not the same as booking at rack rate.

I'm thinking I'm going to bump our check-in date up by one day and see if I can drop our check-out date by one day later. And if I can't drop the extra day later, not that big of a deal. We generally stay 10 days, but we're doing two trips in 2009 so I thought I'd do each one a little shorter. A bigger hassle, but oh well... At least I have unlimited long distance.

Last week, I found out that our daughter who is in missionary college will get to come home for the same week I had booked our buy 4/get 3 free vacation. So, I called Disney and they were able to change my reservations for the following week! Didn't take but about 3 or 4 minutes for them to modify.

I booked Feb 6-14 (8 night) and all I wanted to do was drop the last night. The CM told me I could not do that. Without the last night I cound not get the deal.:confused3
